Mass effect 2 had seriously better character depth.

Everything they said and did and even their location of the ship is symbolic to something of their personality. And they loyalty missions? Completely badass and blow the personal missions from dragon age out of the water.

I just really appreciate and love the amount of detail and precision that was put into the characters of ME2. Sure, for DAO, there was character development but I never really felt an emotional attatchment to them. I genuinely feel horrible if an ME2 character is mad at my shep or upset with them. Could partially be the voice acting, but the characters all have very real personalities.

Both are different types of games. I loved Dragon Age, but I think Mass Effect 2 is a landmark achievement. It could be one of the greatest games ever made. The action is extraordinary.

Dragon Age is not easily winning. It's more of a tie.

To me there is no competition, Mass Effect 2 wins in graphics, gameplay, story, characters and everything else

I want people to like Mass Effect 2 more cuz I haven't played it yet and wanna be hyped up for it. I already completed 76% of Dragon Age and i'm dissappointed in that game like all bioware games. I think it's because the cut scenes are usually always talking heads and no action or character interaction in the cut scenes like in jp RPG's

Hah, I haven't been on here for a while I like conversations in which you add a little input on why you liked which game better, but being an arms dealer to both sides is a little low.

Why don't you just play jrpgs then? Western RPG wont be like that. There's a couple of the scenes you described but no more than DA:O.

I enjoyed ME2 more which surprised me a bit. Part of the problem with DA:O was so much of the story was spoiled before the game was out and story was it's strong point. When reading a preview there was always something else spoiled. In the end there wasn't very much in the game that surprised me. The combat system in DA:O had a lot of good ideas but the execution and balance were not what I hoped for. I liked ME2 more for the pacing, gameplay and characters. DA:O had better conversations. However I'm still looking forward to more of both.

It depends on what you prefer i enjoyed both but prefer the setting and story of ME to that of DA:O.

JRPGs are not Western RPGs.

Apples and oranges. One is cliche ridden. The other has the tendency to be thrilling and not so loud brash hero and hot chick with big boobs who is a virgin and wants you to have her bod but you can't because you're the chosen one and she's a princess from a faraway land and a ninja assassin.

Pardon my deep rooted hate for JRPGs.

Balance wise, things are crumby. It's really boring leveling a Warrior as opposed to say a Mage.
