I replayed the ending again to test if making a squad mate primary or secondary affected the scene where one of them slides down the platform after you beat the Terminator. I tried it with Garrus, and it was interesting. For the first time, I chose him 1st in the squad select screen with Tali second. At the end, Tali slides down the platform and Shepherd catches her. Like in the trailer. Later, when Shepherd jumps for the Normandy, Tali is the one who helps him up.
I tried again only reversed. Garrus went sliding, but Tali was still the one to save Shepherd at the end. I tried it a few more times with different characters with Garrus. Same thing happened.
I remember reading a few days ago that someone attempted to have every squadmate killed except for Garrus and he/she succeeded, but when it came to that last scene where the squadmate would save Shepherd, Garrus was nowhere to be found. Bug?
Or maybe Garrus just doesn't like Shepherd...dunno. Kinda weird.
Small Ending Bug?

I think that's the same situation as with you squad's dialog in the end of ME1. One of them allways tells you to save the Council and one tells you to let them die.
When i saw that scene where Shepard leaps toward the Normandy i thought about what would happen if the two characters in your squad weren't loyal. Do they just let Shepard fall and that's where the game ends?

Hmm, I don't know. I know I had everyone loyal in my playthrough though. I wonder what happened.

The End of the game is a bit glitchy. Sometimes the character you select doesn't show up in the squad list, and get stuck, so they don't appear where they should. I had it glitch out so Shepard was alone when he would have been helping everyone up from the rubble. it was just h im grabbing the air and moving a floating plank.
As for not glitching, whoever falls and hels you up depends on which slot they're in. I believe it's slot one.

No, I believe it's slot 2 that falls...
Ugh, I'd do it again, but I've killed the Terminator around 5 times today and I want to take a break. lol

If they aren't loyal, they don't survive the rubble. Shepard gets out from under the rubble, checks on them and they are toast. He thens runs to the shuttle alone and plummets to his death cause Joker can't lift him up.
