They are the Praetorians, and they are one of the most annoying enemies EVER.

Does anybody remember the Praetorians on the Collector Ship? It's just like the Praetorians just are thinking......

"Ooooohhhheeyyy , I know you need to pass the room to beat the mission.....and I know that you're getting punched in the face by numerous amounts of husks ...... buuuuutttt I'm just gonna land here, explode, then recharge my barriers again...... KTHXBYE ."

I definately hate Praetorians, and I'm sure I'm not thee only one who feels this way......

They are easily one of the hardest enemies in the game along with Scions.

It takes ~2 minutes to kill them on Insanity.

They are tough bizatches for sure, I hate Scions more but Praetorians are tougher... strange I know, I sometimes end up hating enemies that aren't necessarily the toughest ones. Maybe that's because I play as an Adept, or perhaps because my weapons are very effective against both Shields and Armor, or perhaps because I still haven't played on Insane difficulty (always on Veteran so far). But, yeah, they are annoying, I don't "hate" them though, that award goes to the Scions.

Scions are worse. At least Praetorians have an excuse to be so damned tough.

Them and the big mechs dude, those things are just such a handfull at times.
Scions + Harbinger is rediculous.

I found them god awful until the end. I finally got the hang of taking them down.

Step 1: Shoot with Widow Anti-Material Rifle

Step 2: See Step 1.

Step 3: if you are on this step, you're already dead. Go back to last saved game and start at Step 1.

I deffinatly died a few times when fighting those things. It's like the Pretorians and the Husks are just there to annoy you. The Husks even killed my squad a few times, think i perfered the ones that just exploaded and taking a peice of your sheilds with em.

Speaking of them...do you fight any of them in the Collector Base...I don't remember fighting any and it would have been a good moment to have a double boss fight with them. Perhaps right before you get to the Reaper.

Step 2.1: Curse because it did the ground slam 50 meters away from any targets and refilled it's barrier.
Step 2:1-2.8: Roll a dice, on an odd, go to the next step; on an even, go back to Step 2.1.
Step 2.9: Cheer because it's dead.

Am I the only one who found it odd that there were no Praetorians in the last level? I'm pretty sure there were only 5 in the whole game, 3 of which are just used during the Normandy ambush.



Anyways they may be tough but at least they have a reason to be tough. They're like a sub-boss. The absence of enemies makes them pretty easy to deal with anyways.

Praetorians are easy. Just make sure your squad is alive. Hide behind some cover and wait while your squad takes them out. When they get close, tactical cloak, run to the other side of the room and get behind cover. Cloak drops, Praetorian ignores your squad again and slowly floats over to you. Rinse and repeat. This is how I took care of them on insanity(though, I still haven't finished. *sigh*)

But yes they do require some tactical finesse.

Uh I just play ring around the rosey with them, find a nice tall structure and run around it as he trys to fallow you shooting lasers.

I killed them easy just using warp a lot.

The Cain can almost kill them in one shot anyway.

they're fairly easy/ just keep moving, punch the husks, spray SMG at the praetorian until it loses barriers, then spam heavy pistol/AR/sniper to drop its armour. repeat.

if you're having that much trouble, use laser/flamer on any husks that get in your way.

there wasnt enough of them for me to realy hate them but they werent that easy either
