has something about this quest changed? i thought godwin was supposed to give me something to take back to rogek. my persuade level is to low to work but i should have been able to make soem money off of this quest either way. instead i am only breaking even and no item to return to rogek.

No, afaik you just go back to Rogek for your payout.

Rogek tells you to bring Godwin's return order back, but basically it is just going back to Rogek and getting your gold. You might be thinking of the dagger Godwin will give you, if you pass the Persuade check? That's for you, however, in lieu of the extra coin he can't cough up.
