I picked Earthborn and Sole Survivor--I thought they fit together best.

The skills my Shepard learned growing up on the streets of Earth in a gang helped him to survive the Cerberus-orchestrated thresher maw attack on Akuze later in his life. Years later, Cerberus brings him back to life, helping him to cheat death again. I figure a survivor is what is needed in a coming apocalypse.

My Shepard is not a hero; he's just a man who can't seem to die.

I chose spacer for my first Shepard and continued it to the sequel. But I regret not choosing earthborn...darn it and I still do.

I just like Earthborn War Hero because it's such a great story. An orphan grows up in the slums of Earth, runs with gangs, then joins the military to escape that life and make something of himself. He then shows his mettle by saving an entire colony by himself.

earthborn ruthless, The battle on torfan was in my younger days when I let emotions control my actions. Good soldiers died that day to help me eliminate the threat. They knew the risk when they joined the alliance. No civilians were harmed in that raid and torfan does not make me evil, just hard enough to get the job done.

Earthborn/Ruthless is kind of obvious, though, like Spacer/War Hero. Or Colonist/Sole Survivor.

Let's ignore that my Paragon ManShep is a Colonist/Sole Survivor. <_< I tried to redo him as a Colonist/War Hero because I figured Mindoir plus Akuze was a little too much angst, but I never got around to finishing that playthrough.

I think Colonist/Ruthless is another good combination. Shepard's home and family were destroyed by batarian slavers, and she gets her revenge years later during the raid on Torfan. My Renegade FemShep was Colonist/Ruthless. This combo also adds more emotional impact to "Bring Down the Sky," IMO.

I also like Spacer/Ruthless, which is what I did for my Renegade ManShep. Since we only ever meet Shepard's mother, I decided his father died in the First Contact War, so Shepard's had a grudge against aliens--and especially turians--his whole life.

I like Earthborn Sole Survivor. That was my first character. Currently my favorite is Colonial Ruthless. I hate batarians.

I'm a Colonist War Hero. Shepard has risen from the ashes and returned to wreak havoc on the evildoers!

My ManShep is an Earthborn/Sole Survivor.

He was happy when he heard about the Shepard Scholarship on the news, not so happy when he recieved an email from Finch (He escaped gang life for a reason), and downright pissed when he realized he had to work with Cerberus (The email that he got from Toombs was heart wrenching). Blowing up the Collector base was a very satisfying 'F--- you' to the Illusive Man.

The only odd thing about my Shep that I'm still trying to justify Role-playing wise is his tendency to be Paragon (First playthrough of ME1 = uber paragon; I've mixed it up since then, but still paragon in major choices).

My FemShep is a Colonist Ruthless, born on Mindoir, got owned by slavers at 16, then later got her revenge on Torfan.

Growing up on earth taught my Shepard that he needed to be ruthless if he wanted to survive. Enlisting in the military to escape a dead-end life of petty crime that would ultimately end in prison or death was the logical choice, and those same values allowed him to get the job done regardless of the cost. Paragon, renegade, human, alien... nothing else matters.

BTW, I obliterated Finch the second I heard from the Turian what he and his dumb buddies tried to do.

Earth-born sole survivor.

Gave me a deep, rational hatred of Thresher Maws. And orphanages.
