I'll quote a post from David Gaider, the lead writer. He's not as negative as I was.

Nope, no resurrection period. Think of it this way: in our own world, a single resurrection spawned an entire religion. Someone coming back from the dead is a miraculous event, and that's how it should be. I won't say that there will never be resurrection in DA, but if it happens it will remain miraculous.

Magic operates in DA under certain laws, and one of those is simply not being able to create or return life. What happens beyond the veil is a mystery: nobody knows for certain what happens after you die, ghosts may or may not be real, and there's no proof of the divine and thus no answers coming from deities or other planes of existence -- indeed, even if magic were able to provide such answers, the fact that magic was involved would make said answers automatically suspect.

There. A faint glimmer of hope, and from me of all people. I must take a shower now. Image IPB

i am somewhat confused.  If there is no returning from the dead can you please explain Flemeth?  Morrigan seemed pretty darn positive that if she was anywhere near Flemeth when we killed her mother that she would be in danger.  She didn't seem to confident either that Flemeth would not be able to ressurect herself at a later date.

That's because Flemeth didn't die. Her spirit survived the death of her body and is probably gaining strength to re-possess another, or has already done so and his merely biding her time.

Yeah. Flemeth, as had sort of been alluded to, isn't entirely human anymore. She's an abomination at the very least, maybe something more.
