And besides with all those bodies to feast on..I suppose by the time they got to Duncan..they may have been satiated? Just speculating how it all could take place. :)

Didnt you see the cutscene ? He was the only one alive and there was a horde of darkspawn running at him.

Yeah...I saw the cutscene..did we see anything definite happening?  Nope.

We saw a whooshing axe....the screen turns white and blank.........the rest is left up to our imaginations.

And of course, the first thing you're going to think is..he was decapitated.   Matter of fact thats what I thought originally..til I started thinking about it some more. :)

When you think about Cailan's death..we saw the whole thing, what the ogre did..then when it comes Duncan's turn.....there is a deliberate cliff hanger. Why not put in the details? hmm?

If you watch closely enough your'e go'na notice that no grey warden in the game is actualy shown diyng in the cutscenes. So by your'e logik  I can think that Riordan made a parachute from his underwear and safely glided down

For dramatic effect.

I believe the Codex itself mentions something about his death, but that's about all we have on it - We never DID find his body, which I would have thought that Alistair would have wanted to recover.

However, the Devs, in an interview about Awakening have only said that he was "Potentially Murdered."

So, he could be alive, but unless the taint overtook him and the Architect took him, why wouldn't he have sought out the Warden and Alistair - I'm sure the rumors and such of their deeds would have gotten back to him.

I can see him as a darkspawn or something, but not alive. That would simply be bad.

The talking darkspawn their talking about is the Architect... If you haven't read the Calling then you won't know who the Architect is until Awakenings... But I'd recommend reading the book so you get an idea who this creature is n how much of an affect he might be in Awakenings

Of course he survived. He's Duncan. He has no beginning, no end. He is infinite.

Check the codex on Duncan ingame. It clearly says that he was slayed at the battle of Ostagar. The game itself is saying he's dead.

Duncan ran off and had a demon-god love child with Zevran, who is currently in my tent...assassinating...darkspawn things. or something like that.

Nope we saw him fall, and land with a thump.......matter of fact your PC is standing close by when that happens.

So..."potentially"...doesn't mean he was.   Does it? :)

And in this case that dramatic effect could go either way. :)  But we are left to "assume"...he was killed.   But we aren't shown any proof.   All we see is his weapons...no Duncan, no fancy Duncan armor.

I can't conclude from that evidence that he's dead.

If he's dead ...Bioware...pics or it didn't happen. *wink*

I wouldn't be...besides ..if he was..it wouldn't be true life would it.   Darkspawn are referred to as "souless husks".

He wouldn't be a darkspawn, but a ghoul.

That could be....I always think he's done the transformation already, and thats why we haven't heard from him.

But then again look at Tamlen, he shows up as a shriek..reverts briefly to the point where he can talk, then the shriek part of him takes over again.

Sorry if I seem like a dog with a bone, but I haven't seen enough evidence that he's dead to believe it.

"Potentially murdered"...doesn't mean it happened.   That just adds more to the cliffhanger effect.
