I say, if this was the first installment, and ME 1 was ME2, people would hate ME2 and complain how it's not like ME1.

True. The people complaining about the whiners are just afraid bioware will listen to the "whiners" and ruin their "precious" ME2 experience.

Due to what i've seen from you in other threads, it would seem you are being sarcastic here. It's hard to tell on the internets. That & my Sarcast-0-Meter is totally borked.

Look up "SithLordExarKun", I think you two would get along like peas and carrots.
No I'm not being sarcastic simply defending my position, after your "good" remark on a previous thread I'm fully aware of were you stand on the issue. You like ME2 the way it is, me not so much.
Tell you what, you don't bother me and I won't bother you. Deal?

Seems to be the general response to the game thus far. And I think I found the answer why. Because it's not ME1. People hate it because the second installment is not exactly like the first game. These people are afriad of change, and how they have managed to stay engaged in video games for so long is beyond me.
So now you resort to slandering me on other threads as well?MassEffect762 wrote...

Infact, ME2 was made the way it is because of people like you "whining" about the first game. Hilarious how you tell me to grow up but you begin to start trolling on other threads telling me to look up my name.
No one has been whining as much as you lately.

You bothered/attacked me first, you, 95% of the time instigated stuff like this and then when you get attacked in the process, you cry like a baby and play the victim. Quit being so petty hun and move on with life.MassEffect762 wrote...

The action in ME1 gave me as much enjoyment as combat in Call of Duty and Halo did, but it had the added bonus of RPG elements. The game was never intended to be a straight up shooter, nor was it intended to be a straight-up RPG. Being such, BioWare has a lot of wiggle room. They don't have to stay true to shooter as well as not having to stay completely grounded in "pure" RPGs. We as the community shouldn't bash them for that. There are tons of other games out there for us to play if we aren't satisfied with one series, but sitting here and tearing down every little detail of this game isn't right. It's clearly unfair to the developers who spent countless hours working on it, and it's unfair to the people who have never played Mass Effect. Seeing all this negative attention could cause someone to pass up a game they would enjoy otherwise.

I disagree. I'm not afraid of change, nor do I hate all change. However, I play video games for recreational purposes. That means that the games I play should be enjoyable. I enjoyed ME1 immensely because of the story and, yes, because of the combat. It was FUN! ME2 has the story, just as ME1 did, and honestly, on the whole, I like the NPC crew in ME2 better than the ME1 crew. What I dislike about ME2 is the combat (they ramped it up and made it too bloody intense at the casual level), the planet scanning (it puts me to sleep) and the lack of choices in weapons and powers. ME2 is highly enjoyable...until I get to a battle, and since there are tons of battles the game isn't as fun to me as ME1 was. I feel stressed out during most of the battles, and being stressed out does not equate to an enjoyable gaming experience.
I'll admit, when I first tried playing ME2 I absolutely hated it. Being a Vanguard in ME1 was awesome; being a vanguard in ME2 sucks ass, to put it bluntly. Once I changed classes, it got more tolerable. I'd say about half the battles are still stressful. The other half are kind of fun because I can destroy everything in my path and only fire my gun a couple of times. Running out of bullets or thermal clips or whatever the hell you want to call them annoys me to death. Were it not for that, I don't think I'd even get pissed during the battles, but knowing that I have such a limited number of shots makes me feel like I could chew steel so I try not to shoot anything for fear that something worse is on the horizon and I'll get caught with my pants down, so to speak.
Anyway, my point is that my problems with ME2 aren't because I hate anything new. Instead, they are because this game is too tense. In their effort to kiss the asses of the people who whined because battle in ME1 wasn't "intense" enough to give them a huge woodie, BioWare has crapped all over the people who play the game and have no desire to feel like we're fighting for our lives every moment of every day. For God's sake, Shepard is supposed to be a supreme badass but lower level mechs give her (or him) problems. It's ludicrous. This isn't Call of Duty where you're playing just another soldier...this is a game where your name strikes fear into people, yet there you are having to duck behind crates because a no-name Krogan is after your head. Screw that. Any no-name, non-important enemies should be fodder for Shepard. Period. And throw in the fact that "new technology" is crap when compared to old tech (come on, we're really supposed to buy this crap that having to change heat sinks gives us some advantage over endless ammo instead of acknowledging the fac that the devs just came up with the idea to suck up to shooter fans who ****ed and moaned about the ease of ME1???) and it just irks me further. I see no reason they couldn't have left some aspects alone and just made the higher levels (hardcore and insanity) flat out impossible so the little boys who like to show off how great their "shooting" skills are (and don't get me started on the fact that, if you handed most of them a real gun they would shoot themselves in the foot while a number of us "people who suck at shooters" could hit the damned target six times before they figured out how to load a real damned gun) could be happy while the rest of us could be happy too. Instead, we get screwed. Am I still playing the game? Yep, but I'm not overly happy. And if ME3 is adjusted to suck even more shooter-fan c**k then I'm going to be even more pissed off.
/end rant
Sorry for the rant, but it felt good.
All i was telling that little kid is because of our "whining(look very closely at the inverted commas), the dev's improved on the stuff we complained about.gmartin40 wrote...

If we all shut the hell up and played the game, how would Bioware know what to improve on?
