Guys,

Somebody please explain me what i did wrong?

I am level 26, I almost complete all the assigments, all members are loyal, I have arround 40 hours of gameplay. I would say that my renegade is up to 87% and my paragon is up to 70%.  Grunt died whe he was the leader of the first squad, Legion died when he was hacking the core, I restarted the mission again but this time with tali, she died too at the same spot (when they were closing the door). My squad was miranda and mordin, jack was the biotic specialist. Jacob was the teamleader who escorted the survivers back to the ship. Posted ImagePosted Image

Garrus or Miranda to lead the team both times. Legion or Tali to hack. The old Asari babe (forgot her name) as biotic specialist. Thane took the survivors back. Keep Mordin with you because it seems way to easy for him to die otherwise. That's what i did, worked great for me both times.

does the paragon or renegado has something to do with this?

No. You just have to be logical in who is doing what.

For example, when choosing a leader, actually choose someone with leadership abilities, not someone there for the thrill of the kill (Grunt).

No it doesn't have any effect. You just need to pick the right people for the right jobs (Grunt as your team leader was the wrong way to go lol)
I've heard some people say loyalty doesn't matter too much, i would have them all loyal anyway, just in case.

Yea, Grunt basically has no leadership skills, he's pretty much a "baby". I sent Garrus with the other team and Legion through vents. (My logic for that was "he's a robot, what are they gonna do shoot him dead?") first playthrough everyone survived but Mordin in the end, I was pretty upset, I could have started over but I also didn't know there was an actual time limit/mission limit after...you get the IFF and stuff. So a lot of people died (Donnelly, noooo). I sucked it up as a loss and ran through the game again, saving the side missions for after I beat the game..because I didn't know you could do that sigh.

Also, I had Garrus leading second team. Legion in vents. Jack make the field. Tali and Thane with me on final fight.

Also, many people think ALL their squad is loyal, because they were at one time, but some don't realize that you can lose the loyalty of Tali/Legion and/or Miranda/Jack depending on conversation choices. I had max Paragon, so I don't know what happens if you side with one player and not the other, therefore I don't know if the game dialog tells you that so-and-so is no longer loyal.
I have seen some player say that Tali/Legion dies but only to find out they didn't know they had lost their loyalty due to conflict.
UPDATE: Wow, I'm quite surprised you made it with Grunt as a team lead - but good job.  Endgame is EPIC!

If you're a Renegade handling the Tali/Legion conflict, I found it's easier to side with Tali, if you don't enough points for the Renegade solution. Then, talk to Legion immediately afterwards, and tell him that you were only telling Tali what she wanted to hear, and he can go ahead and send the data.

This worked for me:

- Hack: Legion
- Second team leader: Garrus (both times)
- Escort for the crew: Thane
- Biotic specialist: Samara
- My squad: Grunt and Mordin

Not absolutely necessary. Jack was not loyal (because of the fight with Miranda). Still, everybody survived.

Yeah u know, i had to try 3 times but at the end it was worth. I was a little bit nervous the third time, cuz i did not wanna get anybody kill.

Zaeed cant lead ducks to water. He gets all his men killed just about every mission, and he got drummed out of a leadership position in the blue suns.

Grunt dosent have but 2 weeks experiance with living let alone squad leading. He's liable to just keep firing and ignore anyone hes supposed to be protecting.

You can use the same person for fire team leader both times.

Basiclly take a little bit of time to read the description that pops up for each character when assigning job.It pretty much spells it out for you there wether the character is good for the job.
