Hello everyone, i am new to dragon age and to toolset and facefx. I made a character and after playing him for a while i decided i cant stand his face. After messing around with facefx i come to realize that i have no idea what i'm doing. If someone could point me in the right direction or explain how i can export my characters face into facefx i would really appreciate it! Thanks
Creating playable character

Well if you hate his face, like I did mine after awhile lol, you can use the toolset to change it. Heres how. After you make the face you like in the toolset, Export to the the face in the override file. You do this by, In the toolset, press the
Press the Tools--Export--Post to Local
and it should bring a MOR file (your custom face) into your override file.
Remember don't use the MRH file in the override, it will not work. MRH files are only usable towards the toolset. MRH files can mak mor files and mop files.
MOR files are face morphs that replace character faces in the game, including the main character
MOP files are files you use to import a custom face into the game Character Creation, you know when you start a new game. In the box here you tweak the appearacne of the face, go to export settings, say true for MOP file
the export to local. Change File name to for example for human male
hm_cps_p01.mop (first face of human character, increase number to change othre faces of character creation)
everything is acroymned for elf maes it be em_cps_p01.mop, female elf ef_cps_p01.mop
dwarfs male dm_cps_p01.mop
df_cps_p01.mop for dwarf females, and so on.
Face Morphs are by far the easilest thing to do in the toolset, and if you get the hnag of it, can be really fun But anyway but to the main focus
Anyway heres how you change the characters face.
"file name" of MOR file
drop in your override folder
Than
open your toolset, click file, click open file, than open a save game
file you want to edit (make sure you have backup saves) in your My
Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Characters\\"YourCharacterNames" . The save
game files should be .das files
When you open your save game
You should see alot of horizontal columns. But heres what you're looking for.
Click
SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR > "Click"
SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR > "Click"
SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE.
The last line in this structure reads
SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME | STRING | in this empty space on the far right, enter the line "file name"
Save file.
Anyway do this early on in the game. IF your too far ahead like, 90% near end of game, it may not work. depending on your PC. The computer with 4 GB of ram can handle the toolset, anything less then that may cause problems. But if your computer is packin the ram you should be fine. I was able to change my character's face from my icon to this

Hope the info wasn't overwhelming. And I know what you mean, honestly you should forum in Dragon Age Nexus, there are far better people, who will respond to your questions, and they're very nice and helpful. When I first asked questions on this bioware forum, no one would help me, and would be realy fraustrating, I don't want to see the same thing happen to you as it did me. Or maybe you will have more luck
heres the link to dragon age nexus
they a very nice modding community, who would be more then happy to help you on questions greading toolset and other things about customizing this game. I even had Adminstrators respond to me, to help me on a particular problem, anyway I hope your face chage goes well
