Will the release version of the game have more expressions to choose from for character portraits?  If not, is this something that can be supplemented through scripting?

I am wondering how much greater control the Morph Editor in the toolset is compared to the Character Creator. I wonder if a program could be made by the community to allow those heads made in the Morph Editor to be used by the player.

Do we know the morph editor has more control? This whole time I was under the mistaken impression that the editor in the CC is the morph editor itself. That is, what we saw in the CC is what we get. end of line.

I thought the character creation tool was limited at first, then I loaded up this social site. I think we'll be able to get a lot of new stuff for the game through DLC.

I agree. While I'm completely satisfied with every other aspect of the creator, (Could have more diverse facial hair, though.) I found the portrait expressions very limited. I would like my portraits to more accurately portray the personalities of the character. Rather than choose from blank, condescending, angry, and insane.

I would love to be able to to just export an OBJ out of the toolset and create my own morphs in Max, is that too much to ask? I mean, I imagine there will be some sort of converter for whatever obscure format they use for their models, but those so often require doing so much extra nonsense.

I second that, hopefully they'll add more expressions in the release version)

I'd love for more expressions to be included in the release! There needs to be some smiling (smirking doesn't count) going on.

I agree with more smiling, most of the other experssions make you look a little crazy.
