So I've been tying to get my DLC for several hours each day since it's release. I've figured out my problem is PROBABLY with th Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater so I go into my local content services and try to start it up manually and get

Services
Windows could not start the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service on Local Computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

So any one have any ideas for a work around?

On my laptop the content updater isnt even registred as a service. So I'm not even able to test if I can start it through services.

What type of windows account are you logged into? Try using an admin account to start the service. If that works it'll help narrow down your issue.

I came across this thread while looking into why my DLC is still unauthorized, and I found that tha DAUpdater is the problem. When I type in the command prompt (as administrator) "net start DAUpdaterSVC" I get the message

"System error 193 has occured

**** is not a valid Win32 application"

This is after a reinstall. I am using the Steam Ultimate Edition on Windows 7. I realize this is a year-old post, but it is the only one that addresses my problem.

Huh?!  DLC issues are the number one issue on this forum.  Start here:  http://social.biowar...8/index/6265850
