I apologize in advance if i violate any rules regarding post length or repetition.  I've never been much of a forum person, but count me among those that find Tali inspiring and worth supporting.  I am obviously not alone in that regard.

One of my few disappointments in ME1 was that there was no possibility of a romantic relationship with Tali.  I had committed to no relationship in ME2 until Yeoman Chambers off-handedly commented to me that Tali was interested in being more than friends.  So long Ashley Williams.

I have some optimism that we will see Tali in ME3, hopefully as a team member and ongoing romantic interest.  Why optimism?
     1.  The incredible effort put into Tali's recruitment, loyalty mission, and interactions with Shepard.  Her reuniion and subsequent interactions include some of the best diaglog in ME2 and do a great job of building the emotional interaction.  I don't recall being given the opportunity to comfort any other potential romantic interest as occurred aboard the lab ship.  By the end of her trial I couldn't picture Shepard with anyone else.  To put that level of care into crafting her rationale for caring about Shepard only to toss her aside would be ludicrous.
     2.  Along those lines, the idea that Tali and Shepard would just have a one night stand makes no sense.  She is literally laying her life on the line in order to be with him.  She wouldn't accept anything but the real thing.  He has to be willing to wait for her, possibly to the point of having no physical relationship in order to protect her safety.  The idea that they would go through all that, and for her the inevitable post contact illness, for a fling is ridiculous.  If it was just about having sex she would have gone with the nerve stimulators.  I wouldn't expect any cross-species couple to produce children, but i see Shepard as being after her heart, not her ovaries or their equivalent.
     3.  Like many, I was frustrated by the helmet fake out.  Hey, she promised to reveal herself to Shepard, not us.  Still, as frustrating as that was it makes me all the more eager for ME3.  There would be plenty of anticipation for that reveal in ME3.  To not have that in ME3 would make no sense.
     4.  Story hooks.  Tali is loaded with them.  There will have to be resolution to the Geth/Quarian conflict in ME3.  What will happen with the factions in the migrant fleet.  Will she adapt to Shepard and be able to interact more freely with him.  There are plenty more.
     5.  Story continuity.  It makes sense that characters would leave the team either temporarily or permanently.  It also makes sense from a story-telling standpoint to have characters that are present on the team across the entire story arc.  Tali and Garrus fill that role nicely and would tie the three games together in a way no other character could.  Taking the romance with Tali (or Garrus) to a higher level would further support the emotional power of that arc.

One source of concern to me is that a friend of mine who did not upgrade the Normandy told me that Tali is one of the crew who is killed on the approach to the Collector base.  That was a horrifying thought.  Not the way you treat someone you expect to be important in the sequel.  Still, it sounds like pretty much anyone could buy it in that final battle, so maybe I am reading too much into it.  I also agree with the concern expressed that she would be relegated to a supporting role by becoming a fleet admiral.  Maybe I defended her too well at the trial.

Hopefully the development team at Bioware realizes that with Tali they have captured lightning in a bottle.  I imagine people there were surprised at how she has resonated with so many.  I am willing to trust Bioware given the incredible games they have produced and relatively minor quibbles I have had.  That does not mean I am above begging them to include Tali as a team member and ongoing romantic interest in ME3.  If I knew how to do the signature thing I would add that to my post as well.

*pokes bioware with a sharp stick* You reading this?

All very true. Well put.  But theres one more thing i think- she was banished from the flotilla and took on the vas normandy title, so unless they were to jus cut her out completely which we all know aint happenin, shes got nowhere else to go but with shepard and the normandy.......Posted Image

She only gets exiled if you screw up talking them out of it.
But if that's what it takes to have Tali as a squadmember in ME3, I'll gladly screw that up.

Asari do not need physical contact to reproduce, as Liara said in ME1.
Humans do. I suspect that quarians also do.

How many pages can a thread hold? Because a week or so ago I only thought that it could hold 380 pages but now we are past 1000 pages.

..well its cuase they aint reall Marines..CQB training is prime among infantry training for Marines so Quairans in the tight quarters of a space ship should be a serious threat....however they are not...at allPosted Image

Somehow I don't think it really makes sense to judge current american training to that of a spaceborn military force that exists over 140 years in the future, originating in a very different culture :)

...well then they should name themselves somthing else...maby Quairan cannon fodder?Posted Image

Oh, slowed down.

I doubt true Talimancers will stop posting just because we hit 1000 pages.

That's not what my post meant.

opps. I think we both didn't get what we both meant. Posted Image
I meant to say that it'll slow down now because those who are on this thread just to help push to 1000 will probably now not post as much, and those who just want to be on page 1000 will probably leave or drop in a rare post now and then. While those of us who are just here to post about Tali ...well...we don't really care to much what the post count is. Lock the thread...we'll start a new one, keep this one alive (if only to make sure everyone post in once place) and we'll still be here pluging away.
Hope that clarify things.

I understood what you meant.

I'm just cruising through, not the biggest Tali fan by any means. Just saw some post in a few other threads saying how this thread came off as some sort of "in-crowd" thread and I  felt like dropping by to see how "in" it was.

It isn't, at all. Not sure what sort of impression other people got from it, but you only have to like Tali in a simple platonic way to immediately be able to participate in conversations in this thread without contributing an epic or simply massive post. The people here are rather friendly, and I've recieved more responses in this thread than i have in most others, others that I seriously participate in and contribute more thoughtful post to. The only way I could get the feeling of exclusion would be if I ignored all the people making the small post contributions and simply focused on the large-post contributors who have obviously dedicated a large amount of time to crafting that pot specifically for this thread. A tailored response for the fandom that deeply appreciates Tali at a level I do not comprehend but nevertheless respect.

The South Park Studios BBS has old systems and has a thread that is at least over 1,337 pages long. The difference is that it started in 2004.XD

As I understand it, Asari simply need someone else to help randomize genetic data. No genetic information is actually transmitted. Think of the other alien race as a catalyst for a chemical reaction inside the Asari.

Since we never hear about Prazza again... I think he and his group are the ones they sent. After that, the admiralty board just bickered about destroying the ship and whose fault it was.

It is safe to assume that after the disaster at Freedom's Progress, Prazza and the other two Quarians you see being tended to are not going to be on active duty. Plus, I would have assigned a much better team to retake one of my own vessels that has a high-ranking individual on it,

With all of the back door political shifty? I think the only one who would do that would be Hen'Gerrel. Zoris would probably not want to help on the basis that he loves the Geth and Xen had the notion that Rael was in Gerrel's camp regarding the Geth and future war.

I have to admit, I too like Tali.

I always found her fascinating in part 1 and the quarians plight was always interesting to me. She had an attractive form but I didn't think much else of it. What sold me on her was her ability to hack AIs and I used her for that mostly and then from there I just used her all the time.

Now given ME2, I really enjoy her story arc and her loyalty mission is one of my all time favorite game sequences besides the Geth Hunters... they are jerks.
