The scenario that comes to mind is that you come to a situation where it's basically "complete the mission, or save your girl/boyrfriend", ala Worf and Jadzia in Deep Space Nine.

That would be heartbreaking, but I can just see it happening as well in the final installment.

We'll just have to wait and see.

@Wally2905 yes I think it will be similiar to Baldurs Gate 2. It´s obvious if you ask me given to the choices you can make like advising the Quarian not to go to war with the Geth or letting the Rachni live and things like that

I'm not sure the Rachni situation is quite the same as this; that was determining the fate of an entire race in the grand tradition of Star Trek, rather than saving the life of your beloved.

I saved the Rachni though in my playthroughs (all two of them) so no doubt there will be ramifications of this in ME3.

That would be the "Aerith" moment I'd fear.
It would make a very deep emotional impact for sure, and a surefire way to get the most "bang" on the player's emotional attachment for a character but that would just be so wrong.
Like Erinya (Ilium) says "There's already too much suffering and sadness in the world without a need to add more to it."

Nah, I don't believe we'll have to choose between Tali and the galaxy. It would be totaly anticlimactic and a poor way to end this epic saga. If in the end it does hinge on the choice between Tali and everything else...plenty of other galaxies for Tali and me

I dont think that they would not make you choose between Tali and the galaxy.
More like Tali and your own life, if anything.
