This is very likely and I hope the route they will take. In fact they could do the "short and nasty" route where Shepard takes the "easiest" quickest path to save the galaxy but looses everyone who works for him and die himself (maybe) but I rather he lives to suffer the consequence if this route is there.
Then the middle road where most of the choices would lead to a save the galaxy and perhaps loose the LI, some people.
Then we'd have the hardest, you REALLY need to explore all options, do everything in your power be it the Renegade or Paragon path to save everyone including yourself.
More or less what ME2 did, only hopefully, more subtle about it. :P

It would be interesting for example to see if moral implications can be explored as well, can we for example somehow instil a respect for organic life in the Geth Loyalist that they decide to sacrifice themselves to save the Quarians, or make both the Krogans and Rachni understand that if they do not work together, both races will be lost in this great galactic struggle? Just imagine the scene, if you choose to go the short route, in the final battle the battle will be won but at the cost of the Quarians, Krogans, Rachni and countless more deaths. But take the hard route to unite them all and we see Quarian engineers working feverishly to disable Reaper mechs, while Krogan and Rachni, ancestral enemies, fight shoulder to shoulder to hold the line. Epic to say the least, no?

Your thoughts on this matter mirror my own. Fly the banners and ready the troops. Prepare the charge! CHAAAAARGEE!!! *trumpet calls sound as a massive thousands long and many more thousands deep living "wall" of bodies charges across the field* Ahhh! Glorious....but with a hefty butcher's bill no doubt. Sad. Hm. Apply the mental imagery to that of spaceships I suppose, and perhaps pitched battles onboard spaceships.

Anyway, I tried to wrote something again about Shepard and tali.
And yes It's short again...sorry about it.

There was much more to the human and the quarian than the legends hold.
A feathery touch
A gentle gesture
A dream of pureness
A simple love
There is a darker side to everything.
She know it better than anyone.
While her heart brimmed with love for the commander, She also had been filled with a lust for him so raw it pained just as it satisfied, so great it consumed her.
She thirsted for the pleasure that would braid itself into her veins, to run in dark and seamless line between platelets and oxygen.
It was a strange feeling, this subtle joy, a confidence in something more. She had possessed it before...but was it this intense? she doesn't remember. It changed her, now, little by little.
It made her tremble. It made her feel like she was bursting with energy, ready to leap into song as if this was some ancient tale told by a fireside. It made her weak, yet it made her strong.
She was vulnerable, very vulnerable, concerning that. And yet, these feelings gave her a sense of complete purpose and contentment. Restlessness became a feature of the past when she dowelled on it.
A feeling, a sense of knowledge spoken of in many tales. A feeling rebuked and rejoiced in. Described in every way, in the blooming of a flower, in the birth of new life.
It was agonizing that she couldn't have him all for herself.
She was being selfish and it wasn't supposed to be like that, it wasn't right.
She watched him.
She watched him for so long...
Still in her selfish heart.
It wasn't enough.
But even so, she would still love her god of battle.
Shepard.

Lovely!!!

I really hope they don't make the ending of ME3 too tragic. There are enough sad endings in the world already. I want my Shepard to survive with Tali and some of his best friends. Joker and Garrus at least.

Or only if you CHOOSE to make it tragic.
Like in ME2, if you just rush off with the attitude of "Don't care, don't need upgrades, just want to get this done!" You and everyone dies. Then the middle road where some might die, and of course what I believe any true fan will do, work to keep everyone alive.

If they give me the option of say playing another 20hours just so I can save Tali, I'd do it. As long as I get that option.

Yeah.

I'm 99% sure that there will be a way for both Shep and Tali to live and save the galaxy in the process, but there will probably be an ending where everyone dies.

There is also the possibility of a DAO type ending where someone has to die but yo can choose who it is, so you can just send *insert most hated character* to their death and live happily ever after

Actually regarding the Geth- Legion said that Geth believe that every sentient life, be it organic or synthetic, has the right to decide on their own, choose their own path and suffer its consequences.  As they are machines, I'm sure that they'd run simulations of billions of possibilities, and if they decided that self-termination is the only viable option, they'd commit suicide without hesitation. That is of course IF they find that to be "the only way"

Oh definitely.
I am thinking of massive waves of interceptor breaching pods each carrying a platon to insert and carry a seek and destroy mission inside each reaper ship. Primary mission to cripple or destroy a reaper from the inside, secondary objective to find a way to help cripple or destroy reaper ships as a whole. Its a one way trip, suicide in fact but hey, when it comes down to survival of your entire species, people do brave and suicidal things.
Or Bioware will come up with something totally different and blind side and surprise us.

Paradox. If you don't save the Galaxy you can not stay with Tali, since the Galaxy will be Reaped, Tali and you included. So really all you said was "Loose Tali now, or Loose Tali a little later with everyone else" A really bad choice.. because you always loose Tali.

Of course I would defy all odds, and do both. Even if it means I have to reprogram the whole game to do so. I don't want Tali for a few days/weeks only. I am selfish, I want her for the long run.

It could work out that way you know. Considering the animosity between Geth and the Quarians, I really doubt that there would be any peace as long as both survive. Also taking into the possibility that the Geth would at this point rival the Quarians in Tech mastery, there might come a choice to save one or the other, or let both races die. Would be heck of a plot device no?

I don't know something is telling me  that there is something more to Reapers than what we know already. This cycle of the reapers wiping out all life has been happening for millions of the years   So when did the cycle start... what started the Cycle..Who  started the Cycle, what is a Reaper really?. Those ships that you see are just shells maybe another  race that had reach  their "Destiny".  More were  are they coming from, Citadel is a massive Mass Effect Rely... It has to connect somewhere another Galaxy perhaps. They are way too many unanswered  question to be charging headlong in to  Massive Space battle with Reapers... To many unanswered question that need answering.
