In the end, what Shep takes away from his background is shown by how he behaves in the game, of course. Renegade Shep learned to watch his back, trust nobody, and look out for number one. Paragon Shep learned to rely on his mates, face a cruel world united, and earn the trust he gets.Raniall wrote...

I looked at it the other direction: I mean, Shep gets off the streets. He was surprised to see Finch again in ME1. It was something he left behind, and in general Shepard doesn't seem to leave anyone behind.Lord_Moose wrote...

Earthborn doesn't understand family like Tali does, I think. But I personally like the choice.
But it gives him an understanding of cooperation, and the strength in working together.
he joined up with the reds to live.
So its a little sad to hear that the Red have lost people in the colony attacks, men... women... children.
tens of thousands, that im unable to save.
Earthborn is the "renegade" choice. It's debatable exactly what the being in the Reds taught him.
I think being in the Reds simply taught him how to survive. Did he probably do some things that were against the law? Maybe. The Reds taught him how to survive and fight in the face of the toughtest adversity and may have even taught him how to be a leader a little.
But that doesn't change that there is a renegade effect attached to the choice. Just sayin'.

Shepard is still pretty beat up unless you go Paragon or get the medlab upgrade. I mean, his face is still has got some very visable signs of scarring and I started to wonder. Does Tali dig guys with scars?
Hypothetical question then. Alignment did not change what your face looked like and there was no medbay upgrade to eventually fix them. Is Tali a chick that digs scars?
I think she might be able to move past the exterior "scratches in the paint job", but I doubt they are something she actively "digs" - especially at the extreme end of the Renegade scale. Shepard's scaring upon first starting ME2 without any Paragon nor Renegade points is noticeable yet not horrendous, IMO.
P.S. Ok! Back to playing ME2. See ya around gentlemen.

I was gripped by the urge to mend my broken face before I reunited with Liara for some reason. I was drunk at the time I think. do people actually comment on your scars if you keep them?

I'm really not happy with that whole "renegade/sith, paragon/jedi" thing they had going on with the face in the game. I mean, I played through once never getting the medbay as a renegade just to see it, but I never got into it. It seemed like that was the kind of thing that should have stayed in Knights of the Old Republic.

Yeah, its a little immersion-breaking when your full renegade and no ones goes "Whoa...dude. You REALLY look like hell"

I am totally sure that (at least ) my Shepard loves Tali for her personality mostly ( not whole ), and the same goes about Tali's feelings about him. Anyway i would like I like that. Tali is a beauty, but if Shepard put more attention to look, then he would rather be with some Asari, he would have a nice woman, he could throw away. And an Asari probably would not take it as bad as Tali if he did declined her love.Alamar2078 wrote...
I doubt that she particularly digs scars. My guess would be she wouldn't care too much because if you're willing to do the whole inter-species thing then appearance wouldn't likely be the top priority.

I was also a bit not satisfied with this. Even if my 3-rd playtrough paragon was scarred as hell, there was no influence on the game. Same with my Vanguard full renegade. They should be scared as hell by the very look of yours face ( and those terminator-like eyes ).Raniall wrote...

Yeah, and with the LI's too, I wish there was more squad banter about it, or really anything. They're all pretty silent.
