A fair point. The reason I wouldn't lean towards those two options though is that they are something that either doesn't relate to Tali AS MUCH as the others, or perhaps in a negative way, in some sense. She could always hate that you had a planet to grow up on...maybe, maybe not. The ruthless physch though is more one of 'doing whatever it takes' as opposed to the war hero of 'valiant fighter'. If its the issue of the Geth involved, I could see her liking a Shepard that will fight with her/for their cause valiantly as opposed to ruthlessly.
But then again, its just all speculation. I'm quite sure there are pros and cons to each profile. Like I said, Tali never really discusses with Shepard his history in either game, so it can't be said for certain in any case.
Nah Tali would never resent you having a planet. She is to sensitive a person to hold a grudge like that. She instead directs that anger at the Geth and doesn't care if they are heretics or not. On her Loyalty mission if you try to persuade her to just give up and colonize a new planet she gives you very good insight into her persona there.
Your right thou it is all speculation, just from what I have observed she seems to be the perfect woman, kind, sensative, yet cold and calculating when it comes to what has to be done for the greater good. Long as she doesn't put a bullet in my head in ME3 for not letting her destroy the Geth I'll be happy

Agreed, Tali probably never asked him about his past times. ( anyway not when we saw her doing it ) But she surely has to know the very fate of humans in the early Mass Effect. They were alienated in some situations in cause they are hungry for power and influence on everything. Noone trusted humans too much at first. Maybe that was one of Tali's trust for humans? They were new to the galaxy's society, untrusted by others, there were many restrictions. Quarian's were in sthis state for long before humans appeared on citadel, maybe there is a similisrity in this? And in addition, the one who proved human's worth were actually Shepard ( or at least he did started the process ).Hader102 wrote...

I dunno Tali seems pretty Ruthless when it comes to the Geth. I could see her being attracted to that kind of a personality as well if pushed over the course of both campaigns. Don't forget thou that Quarians are fairly selfless. They will do whatever they have to for the sake of the fleet as Tali's father proved. He felt what he was doing was for the good of his entire people and that is why he did what he did. Didn't even leave Tali an "I love you" because the research was more important at the time and possibly because the Geth cut him off.
Earthborn could also appeal to Tali just because you started out from nothing and grew to be the inspiration for your entire species as she saw in ME1. You have to admit a street rat becoming a Spectre would be impressive to most women. There has to be something worth having if you have come that far.

I'm really concerned about that. I, like everyone else here, have a love of all things Tali. That being said, if they allow the non-heretic Geth to join in combatting the Reapers, what's gonna happen if Tali and the Quarians get all bent out of shape over it. I'm not of the mindset of getting Tali angry at me, but the Geth could provide alot of insight into combatting the Reapers.AddoExAtrum wrote...

I can't see it either, but it's always a possibility.
I've tried all the dialogue options on her loyalty mission 5 times over I bet. I've told her everything from 'find a new planet' to 'don't let the geth win'. Honestly, it's hard to really gauge how she might feel about it all in ME3, that is, the issue over the Geth and all. If you bring Legion aboard the flotilla, there are some dialogue options that delve into this a bit. There were two that stood out to me: the first is with Admiral Xen, who is so set on taking back control of the geth that even Tali is somewhat against her. That's evident without legion in the party, but when he is there, he comments something along the lines of "This mobile platform is not up for experimentation." When Xen comments on this and her plans for a war, Legion again responds "We believe that such an attack would be detrimental to both parties, especially the creators." (something along those lines, just pulling from memory here). Tali comments here that this is one thing that She and Legion can actually agree on.
The other dialogue was with Koris. You can ask Legion if he believes peace is possible between the geth and quarians...and on top of that, a coexistance. While Legion says it is possible, both he and Koris make it clear that it would not be easy, especially with the attitudes they all hold for each other on a larger scale.
This dialogue only brushes on the issue a bit though, and only enough for speculation. I hope ME3 explains this well cause the anticipation and speculation is killing me! They present so many possibilities but not an indication of which way things will go. At least Tali loves you either way for now D

Back from lunch and glad to see this sub-discussion still going.
I'm not sure the traditional definition of ruthless applies to quarians in regards to the geth. I mean, from their standpoint, the geth are just machines. It's hard to commit an atrocity against a toaster. (Not saying I agree with the view, just saying that her different attitude about the geth isn't really a departure for her.)
Also, during the time on the Alarei, I think it was shown that Tali wasn't too thrilled about just how far her father was willing to go.
Re: Earthborn: A street rat growing up to be a Spectre might be an appealing ideal but I doubt the reality of what it entailed is attractive.

If you want some really interesting dialogue with Tali bring Legion on Tali's Recruitment mission. Very funny stuff but save before you do it as it will cause your crew to get gooified by the reapers.

I got the opposite from that conversation. Doesn't she retort that Shepard just doesn't know what it's like not having a homeworld? Seems a little resentful, at least in the heat of the moment.
That was a great conversation, BTW. One of the few times I felt bad about the paragon options.
