Question for the Tali fanbase: Have most of you been rabid fans of her since ME1 or was it her expanded storyline in this one that has made you such devotees. I liked Tali's character in ME1 well enough but I tended to leave her out of my squad until after I got the high-level quarian armor for completing BDTS during my second playthrough with a character. This because she just died too easily without armor in my playing style.

Now, however, she hangs in during battle (AI hack is a must against heavy mechs) and, really, her storyline and romance arc combine to make her the most fully realised character in the whole game.

But that all happened in the second game for me. You guys are really, truly, madly, deeply into her in a way that I'm not really in touch with, ALTHOUGH I MUST STRESS I LOVE THE CHARACTER. SHE'S GREAT! (just in case that's not clear, lol).

Just want to know whether it's the new stuff that has done it for you or if she had you at "Hi Shepard" in ME1.

Tali is an interesting character for me. I went in to ME1 convinced I was going to romance Ashley, but she put me off the more she talked about the "bug-eyed aliens" and the analogy that they're like pet dogs that you'd sacrifice for the greater good. Liara struck me as too childish and Mary Sue. She... creeped me out. Maybe that was also due to that eye-thing she had going on...

Anyway, back to Tali, I couldn't care less about her. She started out as one of my least favorite characters, but then Tali's personality grew on me. She had a stunning intro in the alley, she was feisty and strong-willed, yet feminine. She was the one with the most "life" and excitement in her voice and actions. And in the game she quickly became highly competent. AI Hack and her tech skills were life-savers. She became my favorite character and I did want to romance her. 

But ME2 just knocked it out of the ballpark. Everything went to 11 and felt incredibly natural, purposeful, and fateful. It felt RIGHT. She was a better character. Full of charisma, charm, and character beyond the others. Her story and her journey changed her for the better, while others, like Ashley and Liara, had changed for the worse. She grew up, became someone worth seeking, someone worth loving, and it was great to see all of that realized in her almost fairy tale romance with the "dashing commander" that saved her life. She's the only character in ME2 that talks about the very moment that you two met, and I think that's intentional. She remembers that moment fondly... as do many of us as well.

Has been said before, but it's still completely valid. She's gorgeus, and should absolutely be the face
