I've been hanging out in this thread for a while trying to figure out how to get my account to work. Now that it has all been resolved I'd just like to say I support this thread and the creepy/awesome Tali love that goes on within.
She is IMO the best squad mate and most interesting LI in the game.
Keep up the good work guys.

I think Reno hit it on the head. UV exposure after they have been living for generations under artifical light would make them much more sensitive, not to mention they are all probably very pale now similar to an albino. You have to remember their suits dont transmit light to their skin and anything that lives in a lightless environment long enough loses pigmentation

Raven?
Yes to me Tali is a combination of Raven and Starfire from Teen Titans
Too human. Tali is obviously *humanoid*, but has distinctly non human physiology.
I actually think a completely human face on top of the 3 digits, split feet, and oddly shaped shins would be *more* disturbing than a face with more distinctive alien features. Of course, Im alos hoping its not Predator under there, either.
This is why she should keep the mask on. As long as the mask stays on, she can be anything you want. She's perfect as she is.

If I'm not mistaken, the face underneath Tali's and all other quarian masks is simply a place-holder. So whatever is underneath is still fair-game.

Well one of the reasons that Oblivion can be so open is that stuff usually dose not affect other stuff and your character dose not even have a voice or a real personality, and there are a limited number of animations, and there really are not decisions, so I think the awesomeness of ME would cancel out the awesomeness of Oblivion.Mokthr wrote...

I'm probably going to catch A LOT of fire for this, but wouldn't it be cool if BioWare and Bethesda Softworks worked on games together?
I would probably never play another video game in my life if they did that, there would just be nothing to top it.
Well, if ME3 had the open endedness of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, i would be well, words would not be able to describe my excitement. But no, it will never happen
Word for word my friend. They are both amazing games, but the playstyles dont translate. It is ironic, since Oblivion/Fallout are much closer to traditional rpg's, even though Mass Effect allows for much more personalization of your character, and a much much better overall story.
Fortunately, I have ALL of these games, (and the hundred thousand some odd mods that are available for FO3 and Oblivion)
Oblivion was/is beautilful and massive in size. FO3 did a tremendous job of staying true to the canon of FO1 & 2 though it never managed to grasp the atmosphere of the first two games because it relied more on looks than dialogue/story line. Neither of those two games were particularly interesting to me in regards to story/plot which is my main interest in any RPG game. Even FPS games are better for me if they have an intriguing story. My issue with Oblivion and FO3 is that they are simply too open-ended, so much so that even with slavish dedication to pursuing one mission at a time it is way too easy to get distracted and end up running all over the place, do a lot of things, yet not really accomplish much of anything either. Conversely on-rails-shooters are not as enjoyable as games that allow for exploration, IMO. Personally I prefer a happy medium in between the two. ME1 did this magnificently and while ME2 is less free and open it still follows this vein and delivers one hell of a polished package. The ME games easily trounce both Oblivion and FO3 in my opinion. Though I like both of those games, they become dull after a while. I've not felt that way about either ME1 nor ME2; in fact ME2 has accomplished what very few games have ever managed to do in my adult years: It's got me playing it a second time back-to-back. That's all but unheard of in my private gaming life.
Sometimes bigger and more "open ended" does not mean it is better.
Take for example BG2 vs Oblivion. Be all accounts Oblivion should have been played more, and more often by CRPGers but I'll bet when Oblivion comes round to a decade after its release, most CRPG players would no longer refer to that game anymore. Can't say the same for the Baldur's Gate series.
Personally I have replayed the BG series more times then I care to admit and Oblivion only twice. There are times when I still feel the itch to look for the CDs and reinstall Baldur's Gate and re-experience Candle Keep, Ahmn and the Underdark all over again while I can't even be sure I still have my Oblivion DVD.
Oblivion's "open endedness" and size made that game feel empty and to be honest, you can ignore "key" events and there are no consequences inspite of being told that the world will end without your help, unlike what they are trying and I think acheiving in ME2, that sense of urgency that should drive you, the player forward.
I'll bet that there will be some of us

Not Tali related I know, but I dont suppose any of you could take a look at the new Thane sketch in my siggie link and offer some advice? He was difficult to draw and I'm having trouble finding what changes I should make
I probably wouldn't know without looking at a very close up picture of Thane, but theres something about the nose. I don't know, something is telling me it may be a little bit slanted, rather than straight like in your sketch. Then again I could be wrong, I think it looks great either way though!
