Hey guys, I need some opinions.
I've been working on this video clip. Basically, it's during Tali's fall on the platform after killing the human reaper. I was going to edit it to be extra dramatic. It's been quite a challenge, and I'm not very happy with what I have thus far, last night I actually decided to cancel it. But at the same time, I feel kinda weird just giving up on it. So basically, I kinda want to see if you guys think I should keep working on it until I'm happy with it.
http://www.sergio-a....2/testclip5.mp4 (It's short, about ~40 seconds. I'm not putting it up on Youtube until/if I'm happy with it).
Keep in mind it's not finished. I intended to have a little extra footage before and after this scene, I also want to change some of the editing, it just doesn't flow quite right, and in some areas I had to slow down the video so much it comes off really choppy. Like I said, I'm not very happy with it, but I do feel it may be worth continuing to work on if it'll make Tali fans happy.
That was FRACKING awesome. Just need a little touching up at the end so it doesn't suddenly stops and its good to go.

I'm guessing 2 for each one of us that buys it. One that will stay in the box, and another one that you will allow other people to hold.
For those that saw that episode of Dexter's Laboratory NRFB and MNB

I'd take any shepard you see in the books with a grain of salt in regards to their alignment to Commander Shepard. As it could very easily fly in the face of 2/3 of the origin choices.
I just vaguely recall mentioning the status of my parents to Ash during one of the talks with Shepards father being dead. I could be wrong though, only did spacer once, the spacer side quest forces you to go to the very obscure corridor in the wards that requires lots of elevator rides.
As for Tali's parents. Never did Tali's mother get more then a mention, and that was only by Shala'Raan when she mentioned linking her suit up.
Tali only mentioned her mother in the casual "Oh she was around" before mentioning how her father overshadowed her.
I can't dismiss Rael'Zorah as a scientist, and there is enough anecdotal evidence to imply it, but these are quarians, they're defiantly more adept at such technical tricks then the average human. Being hands on would make it much easier to keep it contained, he need not be a genuine scientist in order to do basic tests and oversee the rest.
Lareit,
In regards to the Books, I suppose that what's mentioned in the second books might have slipped through or been the creative license of the author, though given that Drew Karphysun confirmed that the events in all the ME Books are canon, they should be taken with more than a grain of salt. Again, though, the Shepard thing might have been a mistake.
Now, in ME1, when Shepard is comparing military families with Ashley, he never mentions either of his parents specifically. He only mentions that they were Deployed often. I've played Spacer both as Paragon and Renegade (though I hate Renegade), so no dice there. The only details we get for the Spacer back-story in regards to Shepard's parents is with Lt. Zabaleta, where Shepard speaks with his mother Hannah aboard her Dreadnaught via the Normandy's Com room. But, like I said, it would seem like he did die given that Shep never mentions him and only speaks to his mother. Now, Hannah does tell Shep in ME1, "You're making Us proud." But, she could just mean Humanity or the Alliance.
As to Tali's mother, well, there is alittle more mentioned about Tali's mom than when Tali's Aunt was present for her birth and linked suits and was sick for a week, etc. But, I'd have to go back play that part again, so I can't yes or no on that one.
As to Rael being a Scientist. Yeah, I don't think it can be denied. He was deeply involved in the Project, and had first had knowledge and understanding of what was being accomplished and tested. So, it's an guess, at least in my eyes.

I wouldn't worry. DC direct is always...iffy...with thier initial runs. Being a nerd of Staggering perportions I've orders alot of thier respective Figure Lines, and the numbers are usually low. But, once things start selling like Hot-Cakes, they release the next run in bigger numbers and sometimes have limited Editions that are larger, and with greater detail. I know I'd love to see a Resin Tali that quite larger than the standard figure being release with a little Chiteeka Vas Paus floating next to her.

Just started playing Kotor again and Mission is 14, and Tali was 22 in ME1, so she was young but not that much, actually you could say Liara was younger - 100 which i think was around 14-15 in human years and now my Shep feels like a pedophile

I'll definately yield to your spacer knowledge, but I know without a fact Tali's mother was never mentioned by name or duty(beyond being wife/mother/friend of Raan)
Considering who her husband was and who linked suits with her(though it's unlikely Shala'Raan was an admiral at the time) she was atleast decent important compared to most quarians, it seems extreamly unlikely she was anything but a skilled member of a crew on the Raya. She wasn't the captain and was not a member of the conclave(spectulation, but I imagine Tali would of mentioned this in ME1). Hell who knows, maybe she just had the widest hips to appeal to Rael.

Ironically, and I'm not making this up, Mission Vao was intended to be a Love Interest for the Male Revan character during early conceptual work for the game along with Juhani. But, it was decided to keep the focus on Bastila for Story reasons and Mission was droped down in Age to 16 and the Juhani thing was tweeked so that she would only go for Female Revan. Got to love those last minute changes. By the by, the Mission romance thing was discovered back in the day and I recall reading the bit of info from an interview with one of the team writers back in...damn, I think it was 2004? Regardless, I find it funny that when ever Bioware thinks we won't want to romance a character, we do. Go Tali.

I know Liara said she was "barely more than a child" in ME 1, but that might be an exaggeration. There is a random Asari NPC on Ilium that says she is like 60 or 70 - I can't accurately remember, but it was at least a few decades short of 100, and she had an adult figure and voice. She was talking about joining Eclipse as a mercenary to a Salarian. I figure 60-70 is more like the Asari 16-18, but maybe they as a people don't consider themselves "full adults" until well after 100.

I have never understood the comparison. They're both female aliens....and thats where the similarities end. Mission was a spunky teenager kid trying to prove to the world how tough she is and constantly getting in over her head.
She also was unwilling to adknowledge her brother was a complete and total douche who I should of been allowed to stab in the face with a lightsaber.

Yeah, I will concede to your assesment of Tali's mom. None the less, I would still say that Spacer Shepard's Backstory IS the most compatible with Tali's. They're respective lives have been so similar that would be easy to find common ground and Build a Romance from there. However, we all know the adage of Opposite's Attract, so I guess a Earthborn-Survivor backstory could also appeal to Tali....though not by much. Well, in my Universe, it's Spacer John Shepard all the way. Ha, cheers!
