I rewrote them in my first playthrough, killed them in another.

Both decisions are sure to have certain consequences in ME3.

Died with the original Normandy.  Now it's all about loveable friendships turned romances.  And drinking.  Lots of drinking.  Funny story, actually, I had Shepard hit the bottle hard in every club he passed for the first part of the game, like he was drowning his sorrows.

Then Tali came and the habit slowly died.  now it's all about the cuddles.
