That's because you're used to that face with that voice. I'm used to my Shepard with that voice and think the other faces (default included) don't match.

We all started our ME1 games (well, most of us) 2 years ago and played along with a customized, personally attached Shepard. Even seeing DefaultShep speak with his voice, I still think it feels somewhat unnatural because I'm so used to my original badboy shep (even though I modeled him after me, and I'm not caucasian)

I'm still trying to get that scene with Samara! There is something about her that just...mmmm! If it weren't for the irresistible earnest sweetness and selfless love of Tali....

And dem high-heels.  She's the original asari MILF.

Amen. She isn't made any less attractive by her own mysterious nature and the tidbits we do glean from her past only whet my appetite. That she is a true asset in any fight, has a delicious voice as well and some of the most inspired audio cues in the entire game (IMO) doesn't hurt one bit either. I really hope to see Samara return in ME3 and I would like her to be romanceable. Perhaps if she were to bond with Shepard, and let's say that union bore fruit, that child would likely not inherit the genetic mutation that her three other daughters did because she joined with a fellow Asari. There is something redeeming in that I find, as well as soothing in light of the self-imposed quarantine two of her daughters undertook while she had to kill her third daughter.

Agreed. I happen to like all the characters that were introduced. Each of them had their own brand of personality magic to contribute, which is why I find it difficult to vote on "Favourite character" polls. It's a fantastic cast of characters BioWare created.

I like every squadmember and could talk abotu them, but seriously the more I read this thread and repeating my own thoughts, it makes me believe Tali is the main character. Seriously, I feel more connected to her in the story than Shepard. She's got a family, Shepard doesn't. Depends on the background you select(ed) for Shepard. My Shepard's mother is the captain of the Alliance dreadgnaught "Ishimura" and declined a promotion to become a one star admiral because she feels she that it is a political move and that she is better able to honour her son's memory (she sends you an e-mai later when she finds out you are alive) that way, which repeating news casts broadcast throughout ME2. BioWare really went to town with all the major and minor stories.
