With increased popularity comes increased disdain from those who do not share the views of the group, and are subjected to hearing + seeing it constantly. I agree completely that Mordin is one of the greatest characters, and I still love having him around. Same with Liara, I adore her, and she was my LI on my very first time playing ME, so I have good memories of her (I also understand her in ME2, unlike the vast majority).XX55XX wrote...
Indeed. The writing in Mass Effect is way better than Twilight (trust me, I've read the first book and it was awful). But I am simply noting the parallels for you all.
Sometimes I wonder if Tali is bordering the edge of overratedness... I like her, but Mordin and Liara are still the top dogs in my book. (I hope Liara comes back for ME3.)
Agreed. I happen to like all the characters that were introduced. Each of them had their own brand of personality magic to contribute, which is why I find it difficult to vote on "Favourite character" polls. It's an a fantastic cast of characters BioWare created.
Stop kidding youself, son! You gotta have a favorite! Tali, si?[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]

Question: To anyone who HAS played with a custom Shepard, did you notice that your scars go away when you're brought back from the dead at the beginning of ME2? At first I thought this made sense; being brought back with your face and everything re-structured will remove any scars on your outer epithelium...but how come default Shepard keeps his scar?
in non-fluff terms = dedicated texturemap, no need to change the posterboy face
in fluff terms = Cerberus thought Shepards distinct looks were integral to his image as humanity's hope.
Appreciated!videowiz186 wrote...

I seriously could talk about Tali and Mass Effect for hours and hours. I like every squadmember and could talk abotu them, but seriously the more I read this thread and repeating my own thoughts, it makes me believe Tali is the main character. Seriously, I feel more connected to her in the story than Shepard. She's got a family, Shepard doesn't. I should have chosen Colinist instead of Earthborn, but really besides the I Remember Me mission, he doesn't talk about his past that much.
I really wish Shepard had a son...and he has a chance of dying in ME3. Wouldn't that be dramatic? If you recruited your own son?
Depends on the background you select(ed) for Shepard. My Shepard's mother is the captain of the Alliance dreadgnaught "Ishimura" and declined a promotion to become a one star admiral because she feels she that it is a political move and that she is better able to honour her son's memory (she sends you an e-mai later when she finds out you are alive) that way, which repeating news casts broadcast throughout ME2. BioWare really went to town with all the major and minor stories.
any chance for a screenshot of that letter? My ME1 import was a colonist (which gave me a nice letter from Talitha, albiet she's in the care of Cerberus doctors, which worries me)

You could always try using Xfire, if all else fails. It's quite reliable for taking screenshots.The_KFD_Case wrote...
I'd be happy too, but unfortunately "PrntScr" has only produced black boxes on my end with ME2 to date. Fraps wouldn't install due to some conflict with my OS. I may try a different download and see if it was just a bad install file.

I think its safe to say that there isn't a more perfect video game girl out there...
*sob*
Why's she gotta be in a video game...
Time to find a girl like her, I'd say. No girl will fit the mold perfectly, but some will come close...
That's my current plan. I figure it's going to take time, so I'll take it easy and not push when there is nothing to push. Besides, I find my most rewarding and fulfilling relationships tend to have been the ones where Love found me and I didn't go chasing it.
I'm with you on that. Thing is, sometimes that doesn't seem to work out 100% of the time. I broke up with my gf of 4 years last August, and that was one of those relationships that just "happened". Been single since, and sometimes it got hard...but after playing Mass Effect 1 and 2 these past few months, I can sadly say that I've felt feelings I don't remember ever feeling during our relationship. Don't laugh!!
I really hope that a girl like Tali exists out there in the galaxy for me. Until then, I'll play Mass Effect. Heck, I'll still play Mass Effect once I find a girl like Tali!
