Speaking of such things, have you watched the video clip for the Garrus-female Shepard romance? There's some powerful emotion conveyed in the cut-scene just before female Shepard and Garrus consumate their love. Touching. See for yourself.

(the romance background music for all the LIs just go right to the center of me - good stuff)

I just watched Jack and Shepard's paragon love scene. BioWare is TOTALLY playing with the Tali crowd! Just have a gander and see what I mean! Reveal Tali's face already! Damnation.:pinched::lol:

Haha...waist and fringe...

Garrus is easily my 2nd favourite character of the whole thing. Although i wouldn't go so far as pursuing a sexual relationship with him I'm glad he can get in on the lovin'.

And Jack must surely have been a dig at Chronicles of Riddick, surely?

Yeah reflecting on how its played out so far it just all fits together so well. She was there in all his good and bad times, and even after his death its like she never lost that inkling of a wish for him to show up again some time. Which for my Shep just fits so perfectly, especially given her reaction to him and how she followed him to almost certain death without even a hesitation. The first time on Freedom's Progress they encountered each other, you could almost feel a giant sigh of relief / love coming from her when she realised Shepard was alive. Like her wishes came true over those years, and she never lost hope. With my Shepard realising she was still there, she still had his back even after those years and his death.

Rambling a bit here but I just wanted to share some of how I felt about my Shepard's story with Tali.

So far all of Biowares games, and indeed all games with a romance element, follow a similar formula of cultivating a love interest over the course of a game with the characters ultimately getting together at the end.
This is all fine and well but Bioware has a unique opportunity here to do something revolutionary and ground breaking. Since ME3 will be the last of a Trilogy it is entirely possible to START a game already in a relationship.
Although I understand why they whisked your original LI away in ME2 to give players more options for future games and to generate drama that problem no longer exists in ME3.
For the first time in gaming history it is possible to start a game with relationship you have already spent 40 or even 100+ hours investing in.
From a logic point of view this only makes sense.
From a story point of view it instantly raises the stakes and invests you. Especially with Biowares history of killing characters.
From a design point of view if Bioware focuses more on past LI options rather than creating new ones that frees up a tremendous amount of resources that could be used to flesh out the game world or maybe even make existing LI elements more epic.
This is a long way of saying I want my Tali back and it's in Biowares best interests to do so. :)

I concur and like the way you think, good man (I presume).

I am indeed of the male persuasion but I'd like to think the fairer sex would agree.  In fact I would like to hear more from women who like Tali.  It seems that most posts so far are from men.

Aye, I do comprehend why many women may not feel the same gushing desire for Tali, but I am a bit surprised by the apparent lack of female input. There has been some, but it's been few and far between. Perhaps the fairer sex are also more wary about revealing their presence in order to avoid overwhelming online male attention (though good luck with that ladies, you're going up against Tali :D). Of course there's also the distinct possibility the the ladies are fawning over some of the ME2 male love interests in other threads.

Quite possible.  Tali has the benefit of looking however we want her to look but I'm shocked at the level of female interest in Garrus.  Don't get me wrong, Garrus is the man and my bro for life but I'm still surprised so many woman want to get down with a Raptor that has half his face blown off.

Image IPBImage IPB

The game  had my exact response to Garrus and his scars

"Ah hell Garrus you were always ugly"  That is exactly what I would be said..

So I am the only who likes the make up the Crew in ME 2 better than ME 1... there seems to be more bantar and back and forth among crew members.   I would live to see a scene in ME 3  with My Shepherd, Jacob and   Garrus comeing  back from a mission go like this...

Joker:  "Um ... Shepherd , just wanted to warn you. Trouble heading your way."

"Tali *Glares and points  at Shepherd*  "You stupid, pighead, Bosh'tet ... *followed by a long line Quarin Curses*

Miranda :  " Tali you read my mind" *glares at Jacob*

Kelly:  "Your excuse  Garrus?.."    *eyes narrowed looking for response*

Garrus :  " Boys will be Boys"    *shrugs  Jacob and Shepherd face palm*

Going to prove that in the end.  What men fear and dread  the most is the Ire of the women the love... Reapers , Saren and Collectors don't come close

I don't know.  At least Garrus was no stranger to be a b*****d as long it was done with good intentions.  I think Tali is too good to stay with a renegade shep.

Aye, I commented to that effect (no pun intended) on the old thread. A renegade Shepard just strikes me as being way too rough and aggressive for him to be a fitting love partner for a woman like Tali for any sustainable length of time.

hat said, I can't say she's my fave (sorry! ) but she's definitely a great addition to the game. I can't pick a favorite actually... I like quite a few of the squad. But I would really love her to be ME3 so I'm right with you all!

Fair enough, and sounds good to me. I think we appreciate many of the same qualities in Tali, though my appreciation likely runs just a tad bit deeper....

I respect everyone's opinions really.  My best mate went straight for Miranda, each to own, right?  FYI, he doesn't think Tali is cool but I think it's a more plutonic thing as far as he's concerned.  Everybody needs something to love.

Miranda DOES look pretty damn hot and tempting in those tight outfits of hers. I'd be lying if the more primal side of my male character wasn't drawn to her. I think she could make a good love interest and was gearing up for that in fact...and then Kelly uttered those memorable words about Tali being interested in Shepard. It was a losing battle trying to resist after that.

See I'm as much a guy as the next one and I would think I'd be attracted to Miranda's assets but all she is is eye candy. Granted if this whole ordeal was a real life scenario, i would have to say no to her. I wouldn't be interested in persuing her at all. I guess I'm more of an emotions guy.
That's why my girl likes me, methinks.Image IPB

Make no mistake: I would pick Tali over Miranda (I did in fact). That I'm able to witness both outcomes because it's a computer game makes me more inclined to "shop around" because of the consequences not being "real". It still pains me and I often hold back regardless. In real life there would be no question though: I would be pudding in Tali's hands and happy as can be based upon what I've seen of and felt for her beautiful personality and character traits.

When Kelly first uttered those words I was like... "OH MY ****ING GOD YES!" haha I was so happy, especially after playing through ME1 where I always wished I could romance her.

I used to go down to the engineering room in ME1 and talk to her all the time. Even when there wasn't new dialogue options. Sounds silly I guess. I am such a Tali fanboy haha.

If that's silly then you and I are silly together. I felt, and did, the exact same thing.^_^

Yeah. My Shepard's feelings for Tali began all the way back then in those first conversations in the glow of the engine and they just grew over time, and nothing, not even death itself was able to break those feelings they had for each other. Then finally they really manifested as the sort of love they wanted, for so long unspoken :)

To be honest, after Liara in the first one I didn't really want another romance that would end badly.  Enter Tali.

You're saying Tali's LI would end badly? She seemed fine after the encounter apart from getting sick.

I just didn't see the Liara LI going that way.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it forces you to confront the fact that people you've grown to know and love simply won't be in your life any more. It was pretty depressing at the time, to be sure but I value the fact an art medium can make me feel that way.

that was then reinforced when Tali suddenly came in and I realised my true LI was there all along.  It's a classic story!

I couldn't have put it better myself. Unconditional love is a most precious thing and when it hits you....*sigh*...Well, let's just say that if you find it count yourself lucky whether it lasts a life time or not. Mine didn't but maybe someday I'll find something as pure again; maybe it will even be with a woman who shares traits with Tali. One can dream, right?
