Not to worry: You have lots of things to look forward too. That said, odds are you will someday look back upon your high school years and realise your life probably will never be quite so care free again. *sigh*

True that... Being an adult sucks =P

It has its moments I find. Still, there's little point in denying it has its rough spots. I had heard that the 20's were some of the hardest years for many people. In retrospect, taking in to account that I have not lived the full extent of my life yet, I can only agree with that sentiment.

Hang in there. It can get better.

Here's an interesting question. Simillar circumstance. Genie offers you Tali as a faithful, lifelong lover. In exchange, though, he's going to take your arm off at the shoulder, and make you infertile, so you can never have a family with her. Any takers?

So what's the catch?

Not enough, huh? lol okay, try this on for size
Same thing, genie, companion for life. BUT, Earth-bound bacteria is instantly fatal, so she's in her suit for life, and there's a Midas Touch sort of claus: If you ever make any kind of physical contact with her, poof, she's gone forever, and the heartbreak is terminal, lasts the rest of your life, never even lessens. Everyday for the rest of your life is just as crushing as the day that you lost her.  How bout now?

Do you have the option to go on a different planet and then being able to touch her?

She would probaly build full functional prosthesis, and you couldn´t have a family with her even if you were not infertile... 2 different species or just 2 different kinds= no babies, just saying. But you could do a "Brangelina" if you know what I mean lol.

Can we instead challenge the genie to mortal combat, perhaps lose 20 years of memories, maybe couple years off life, perhaps even 48 hours of excruciating pain. Genies come from a time where economy was based on barter, and are easily ensnared by attractive offers.

Given those options, however, I would gladly give my left arm for Tali. She could probably whip up a new one anyway

Yeah.  I'm halfway through my twenties and Tali's arrived to make me feel awesome ^_^

So, you know.  Swings and roundabouts and all that.

What say you genie?
The offer is on the table.

I'll even sweeten the deal by throwing in two testicles i was going to sell to a krogan.

awwwwwww...........Here's what I was gonna say: deal, under the understanding that every child you have has the 50% of being born a horribly deformed monster that will live the rest of it's life in pain.
But that actually bothered me just to think of, so you can have her on yer own terms lol

That sort of snippy attitude does not require a civilised answer.  Now f**k off.

At this point you may need to considder that this genie is just screwing with you. He keeps changing his offers, and hes probably waiting for you to call him on it, or perhaps even sacrifice any chance with Tali for her own good, at which point he will reward you with a chance with her for either your intelligence or selflessness, respectively

It's been like an hour and the hundreds digit of the page count hasn't gone up. What's going on here guys?

So anyway, we should start a rumor that you can't import your ME2 save game to ME3 if Tali is dead. =p Maybe throw Garrus and Mordin into the mix to make it sound more reasonable.

agreed....I still maintain that the LI in both games will have a huge subplot in ME 3....i can't say it enough....there better be a happy ending for Tali and Shep

Agreed on all points. Initially I was bit concerned yet the more time that passes, the more confident I become that we need not worry one bit about BioWare leaving us high and dry without Tali as a recruitable and romanceable character - that goes for the other characters as well. The fact that BioWare has stated they side-lined LIs from ME1 in order to guarantee that they would be around in ME3 from a story telling perspective and that if you romanced another character in ME2 this would impact things (i.e. not allowing players to get them killed) implies several things:

1) ME1 LIs will return.
2) ME2 romances are bound to be at the very least referenced, if not directly carried over, in ME3.
3) All loose ends are being tied up in ME3. Bringing in the ME1 side-lined crowd reinforces this notion, and given how ME2's plots and it's character cast are now a firm part of the loose ends they will by necessity have to be included in ME3 as well....unless you killed them all, but even that will not free BioWare to remove them since they can't be sure that all players mishandled their teams to that extent.

Logical conclusion: Tali will return in ME3 as a recruitable and romanceable character! YAY!:D

Personally, I think i'd have to take the deal and risk it. Sometimes you've just got to go for that brass ring, regardless of consequences. Maybe you'll be miserable forever, but then again, maybe you'll be with your soul mate. Image IPB

Reminds me of a film i once watched a long time ago with the same scenario.  Or one of the scenarios in INfamous where you could either rescue the doctors and let your gf die or rescue her and let the doctors die. The only difference is that she dies oth ways.Image IPB
