Time to go back to Haestrom  and make sure he dies. My first Quarian kill, must be done for the greater good, or at least for me.

I heard you can get Tali into a convo that tells you why shes shy. How do you trigger that convo if it exists?

I've never heard tell of this.

Has anyone else?

Kind of late for that. I already sealed the deal by making love to Tali in my room. Now just give me a option to pop the question so I can marry Tali in ME3 darn it.

Alittle extreme dont you think? Reegar's a practical guy, even if he had feelings for her if he sees that Tali's happy with Shepard I doubt that he would try and pursue anything with her. Might take Shepard aside and have a "Dont you screw her over" talk but that would be about it, IMHO

Ehh, doubt it. She doesn't really explain why she's shy.

And does she need a reason to be shy, anyway! That's like asking why the sky is blue! You don't do it. You just look up and admire the pretty blue of the sky.

I've only posted in here a couple times, but I come to this thread every day...
I keep coming back to these forums for this thread alone.
Some of you are definitely insane, but maybe that's why I enjoy it here so much!!
After all, everyone is at least a little crazy.

I have a great idea for a FMV, but I lack the software to do it myself...

Basically my idea is a mix of clips involving Tali with shepard particularly including scenes where he rejects her advances and/or basically says "this can't work".

I have the perfect song for it.

I recently wrote about Tali and Mass Effect on my blog:

I beat Mass Effect 2 last night.

I destroyed the Collectors' base and saved both humanity and alienkind
from impending doom once again. At the game's conclusion, the Reapers
are advancing from the edges of dark space towards the Milky Way galaxy
once again, to conduct the campaign of genocide which they have been
carrying out for hundreds of millions of years.

However, as engrossing as Mass Effect 2 was, it wasn't the plot that
drew me in. Surprisingly, the plot was even more "basic" in design and
execution than the original Mass Effect's plot was. The entire premise
of the game involved "assembling a team of the galaxy's finest" to
conduct a "suicide run" on the Collectors' base that lay beyond the
Omega 4 relay. But however, the plot wasn't quite as fleshed out for
this reason - 90% of the game involved doing missions - not to stop the
Collectors' themselves, but to recruit people for your mission. Upon
recruiting everyone possible, only did the final mission commence. And
even then, the final mission was disappointingly short (although epic
all the same).

Because of this, it was the fascinating and diverse array of characters
that BioWare designed and wrote for this game that made the game as
awesome as it was. We meet a former assassin questioning his motives. We
meet a former military doctor regretting how he designed a virus that
killed millions of children via stillbirth, even as he deemed such a
measure necessary. Good character development in video games is so rare,
and BioWare does it in such a masterful and tasteful way that Mass
Effect shares more in common with a good novel than it does with a good
video game.

One particular character which drew my attention was a certain Quarian
female by the name of Tali'Zorah vas Normandy (formerly vas Neema). By
far, I can attest to you all that she is the most popular character in
Mass Effect, and prior to the release of Mass Effect 2, BioWare fans
petitioned for a possible "romance" between the player character,
Commander Shepard and Tali. BioWare, by virtue of fan pressure, granted
us this in Mass Effect 2.

Now, the question is: Why does Tali'Zorah vas Normandy have so much
appeal across a broad spectrum of fans? What makes her so appealing? At
the time of this writing, the "official" fan thread on BioWare's official
message boards has garnered almost4,000 replies. No other
thread concerning other characters has yet to even come close to
the positive reaction that Tali has been garnered with.

Unlike the other female protagonists in the entire Mass Effect series
(with the sole exception of Liara T'Soni), Tali is appealing simply
because she is not a ****, nor is she a complete psycho. She is
remarkably normal and also mentally stable. She is upbeat and positive.
She is that "girl next door" that you wouldn't mind hanging out with
often. Her character is careful mix of benevolence, selflessness, and
determination. And despite all these positive qualities, she also
expresses moments of emotional vulnerability and shyness. In Mass Effect
2, Tali deals with the discovery that her father died in the hands of
some reactivated geth, and her grief is quite visceral. Also, after her
loyalty quest is complete, she will approach Commander Shepard bashfully
and them him how much she loves him, even though her shyness prevents
her from saying those direct words until Commander Shepard reciprocates
her hints of admiration towards him.

Furthermore, another appealing characteristic can also be found in the
way that her character is physically designed. In Mass Effect "lore",
the Quarians have weakened immune systems; hence, they have to wear
biosuits all the time, complete with face mask. Yes, we never actually
get to see Tali's face in the game, even though it is removed once (out
the camera's view) during a possible sex scene in Mass Effect 2. Her
face mask (and the fact no one has ever seen her face) appeals to our
curiosity and makes her all the more appealing. What does she look like?
I don't know, but I certainly hope that she doesn't look like the
Predator from Aliens vs. Predator!

In short, Tali is the metaphor for the girl most nerds desire for but
never get.

What more can I say about Tali? I love her character. Her vast appeal
across an entire fanbase is attributed to her "shy girl next door"
mentality, combined with a touch of personal dedication and virtue. And,
much akin to what one sees with the characters "Edward" and "Jacob" in
the Twilight series, there is quite a bit of zealous fandom around
Tali'Zorah vas Normandy, as I have pointed out earlier. I hope BioWare
won't disappoint us in Mass Effect 3 when it comes to her.

BioWare, thank you for making such a great character. They are all
great, but Tali is the best of them all when it comes to appeal. And,
she doesn't even need good looks to accomplish that! She demonstrates
just how character is far more important than a pretty face, at least in
a metaphorical sense.

N.B. I am acutely aware that this is a video game and that Tali doesn't
exist in real life. But that fact alone does not stop me from admiring
fictional characters nonetheless. Thank you for reading, see you next
time.

Yep, Tali is awesome. Even referenced this thread in my post.

Excuse me... I have one point I would like to  disagree with on... I did find a girl that had those qualities and not just once but TWICE:P:devil::bandit::ph34r:(current  interest i am pursuing, hopeful can get to movies with her on Sat... Snow is making it hard )    gives us nerds credit, we can be very charming when  needed.

But you are right what does make Tali more appealing  over Miranda and  Jack is  that  you just fall right into the romance with her its just Natural.. While the other romance storyline's (with  Samara  semi romance being the exception.) are just forced

Ok kids, here's my final question of the day for you:

You're in the Citadel, on a bit of a night out in Dark Star and you spot the delectable Tali'Zorah sitting at the bar. What chat/pick up line do you use?

Ouuuh! Excellent, and difficult, question my friend!

Personally I prefer to be genuine and polite but also a bit of a charmer willing to push the envelope just a tad bit. If the response is unfavourable I tone it down, but I find it's a good way to take the temperature of the proverbial waters. That said, I don't recall actively going out to any club with the single minded intent of picking up a woman.

Now to address your question....Hmm....Maybe try to go with the flirtatious one-liner that contains a bit of humor and allows her to back out gracefully. How about this: "Hi! I'm sorry to interrupt but I seem to have gotten lost amongst the barstools here. You look like you've sitting here awhile, perhaps you'd let me buy you a drink as a show of appreciation for taking me by the hand and leading me out of this barstool hell? Btw, my name is [insert name]. Pleased to meet you" *natural smile*.

It may seem tame to some, but really gentlemen being relaxed (or appearing to be) and not forcing anything hot and heavy on the ladies goes a long way. By offering her a drink, etc. you are indicating that you find her interesting and this opens the possibility for the two of you to begin talking, and by being the one to initiate contact you are demonstrating a willingness to show initiative. Furthermore, by using wording such as "...perhaps you'd let me buy..." places part of the control of the situation in her hands which should make it feel less threatning. Note: "Possibility". It's never a given that things will pan out as you planned. Body language matters: Eye contact in particular (which will be a bit more difficult with Quarians' helmets) - being able to maintain eye contact in a natural manner (i.e. do not stare at them like you are the next serial killer to hit the front page) and for the love of all that's holy and pure DO NOT cave in to the temptation of oogling her up and down right from the start. She WILL notice.
:D

Kal'Reegar's death this time was indirectly my fault, as I had him be a distraction, and a Colossus turned him into paste.

I saw a post a couple of days ago about the quarian's warships. After talking to Tali and all the possible quarians on the Migrant Fleet, it turns out that they have the largest war fleet in the galaxy (other than the geth of course), and every single one of their ships has automated defense systems.
Just wanted to put that out there.

True, yet only a few hundred ships of the Flotilla are genuine warships. There is a tremendous difference between private cargo ships being retrofitted with an arsenal and possibly also added armour and that of a fully fledged battleship designed from the ground up to engage in battle.

How long before Bioware acknowledges the Talicraze by giving us a bunch of Tali merchandise (Talimerch)?
