Aye, since Ashley is apparently the de facto love interest if you start ME2 with a brand new Shepard, it wouldn't surprise me if the same event is triggered when transferring an "un-romanced" Shepard from ME1. I could be wrong however, as I have not tested this theory nor do I intend to. I anticipate the emotional fallout while dreading it at the same time.

Actually i imported one of my ME1 characters who kept his trousers zipped up during ME1 and started a ME2 game yesterday. While visiting the Captains Cabin of the Normandy i found that the photo that is usually sitting on the desk with a image of the ME1 LI had disappeared. I'm pretty much taking this to mean that there wont' be any fallout in ME3 after i start chasing Tali with a tin opener.

Seriously though, didn't you just get to the end and think 'that's it?'  They could have made the LI have a bit more of an impact on the ending.  Sigh...at least I got to snatch her from the falling platform...

Ah good! Someone to confirm and/or test the theory. Sounds interesting. Still, I don't want to change a thing about my current Shepard who goes all the way back to ME1. I do feel bad for Ashley. I did genuinely like her and if I knew a girl like that in real life I would most certainly consider her dateable material...as long as she didn't try to boss me around like a lowly recruit! Nonetheless I imagine a relationship with Tali'Zorah would be much....Hm. I was going to type "peaceful" and yet I suspect that in private a relationship with Ashley would be quite peaceful too providing you know how to handle each other, but then again that goes for just about any relationship. Difficult decision. My Shepard is smitten with Tali. Things that were beyond both Ash's and Shep's control transpired to set events in to motion that have resulted in him being happily in love with Tali. C'est la vie. I do hope Ashley finds succor and happiness - she badly deserves it, IMO.

Liara's ok... she has never struck me like Tali does though. She has 'grown' apart from you, with differen interests and goals now. Tali never lost that hope, she never gave up

Liara did give alot and that's something those who romanced her have to keep in mind in the face of potential talimance.  That said Asari take the long view and Liara never struck me as the type to mope. She's chasing the shadow broker because she believes that she has to. If she surrenders the initiative and turns her back, the consequences could be grave.

I don't think the Liara backlash will be violent or overly vocal in ME3. I think on her discovery she'll be outwardly understanding, defferential, and make you feel really bad for it.

Tali and her were squadmates, comrades in arms that faced down Saren, you'll never see violence between them or even spiteful words.

I know this thread is supposed to be all about tali, and how awesome she is, but i'd like to give a shout out to Liara as well. While Tali answered the call as soon as we returned, Liara was on our case from the moment we dissapeared, and in her own way, she's still fighting for Shepard.  I'd say Shep is just damn lucky all round to have such top women as Tali and Liara in his life (special mention to Dr Chakwas as another two adventure veteran, and an honourable mention to Gunnery Chief Williams, KIA ).

It's in the other way around? Tali served the flotilla while you were gone but as soon as you returned she answered the call without hesitation and missed you dearly. Liara literally made you her lifes work ever since you dissapeared. First saving you and now dedicating herself to a covert war against the one that is conspiring with the collectors.

They're both pretty ace.

Hmm? I'm saying Tali never gave up  Her feelings never diminished once, she still held on to all her feelings, still held on even against all odds! Thats part of what I love about her.

Never had Any interest in Liara... I like Ashley she was more interesting to me than Liara... plus  she knows how the handle an Assault rifle really well, any woman that can do that is keeper.. Same with Tali , girl handles that shotgun with expertise... she is a  Keeper.   

My personal opinion about the  "Dire Consequences from ME 1  LI"  seems very  immature and just plan  stupid...  Your relationship  ended  with them on Horizon... tensely but on good terms  and well you just move on. The whole idea of Ashley or Liara coming after you  new LI in  some school girl fit of the  Jealous rage is so out of character for them both its laughable... the most i can see is Ashley giving you new LI the 

"If you hurt him I will find you and hurt you" Speech just because she is very protective like that...
