Never, and rightfully so, most companies have another team work on DLC content while the original team prepares for the sequel... And with how well she's written, I really don't want the second hand team doing anything cannon with her <_<

They play a pretty big part. You learn a lot about the migrant fleet, and a little of the daily lives of quarians.
