so I've been on this thread (and the previous one for that matter) for far too long to not know this, so I might as well ask it now. I keep seeing people quoting number of individual posts and such. Where do you find those numbers?

Honestly, there is more chance of Shepard having a kid with a pine tree then with Tali, considering a pine tree would have more in common genetically with him. Sad, but true.

Also, seeing how much traffic this thread gets, I was hoping someone might be able to answer a somewhat Tali related question. I’m replaying ME1 and in preparation for a Tali romance in 2 I’m trying to avoid a romance with both Ashley and Liara. Ashley is pretty easy to avoid but Liara won’t seem to take a hint; even after the “I don’t like you that way” dialogue option, the next conversation with her centers around her interest in “melding” with me which is…awkward to say the least. If anyone has any ideas about avoiding this I would appreciate it, no one seems to have an answer on any of the romance threads.

So, Tali and Shep, would they adopt a kid? I mean, if they want to be parents it would be the only option. I don't think either of them would want to mess with the crazy amount of genetics it would take for them to actually meld their genes.

Who knows, the universe is a crazy place. Different species can interbreed, and on rare occasions, it can produce viable offspring. Maybe with extensive screening or something it could work. It says in on of the novels that Quarians likely evolved from primates similar to those on earth, so maybe there's on off chance??
But if not, there's bound to be some little Quarians scampering around the flotilla looking to be adopted

About Tali being a plant being, probably not, but her planet doesn't have insect life so the rest of the planets life developed a weird symbiosis with their planets plant life to fill the gap. So maybe there is some neat plant stuff going on with her?

With all the advancements in genetic engineering I'm sure they could make it work. Hell if the Salarians can make Krogan infirtal then they could get a human Quarian baby in the works.
I also don't see Shep screwing a pine tree in ME3.

Impossible even under SCIENCE! circumstances. DNA chain incompatibility. To alter either would destroy individual.knight5923 wrote...

Also, Tali's face design for ME3 is probably the highest pressure char design project anyone in Bioware could face... probability of fanboy wrath is high...

See, the thing is that humans and quarians are made out of fundementally different kinds of DNA. I could maybe buy a quarian/turian halfbreed with a good deal of engneering, but a quarian/human just seems impossible. Besides, I doubt Shepard and Tali would want to create a kid that would double as an experiment. If things didn't go absolutely perfect even if the kid could get past being a embryo he might have horrible health problems all his or her life.
So adopting a human or quarian orphan seems to be the best bet.

Can "fix" many things. Not wizard. Unable to change chirality. Adoption only possibility for Shepard/Tali or Shepard/Garrus romance.

Normally yes, but somebody posted an excerpt from a 'dex entry or something (can't remember, it was a few hundred pages ago but was from an official source) that said its unknown if quarians can successfully interbreed or not. So they haven't really ruled it out, even if it is unlikely.
