Just with what you were saying about 'the great suck' etc and glorious heroics. NOt sure what you meant by all that.

probably that sometimes having to be the hero, or the one people depends on, sucks

I cannot sleep and I am on my iPhone. The dream I had was similar to that's of the question that has been asked here, countlessly.

My dream consisted of eating a marshmallow I love or lose chocolate forever. I awoke, horrified at this thought but I realized it has some meaning behind it.

My Shepard has had a pretty ****ty life. His family and friends were murdered on Mindoir, and while on Elysium he had to watch his entire team die. Then he held off an entire fleet alone 'til the Alliance showed up.

Then he worked for the Council who didn't believe Jack **** he said and grounded him because they thought they were doing the right thing.

Then he defeats a ****ing reaper.

Now no one but some **** named The Illusive Man believes him while no one else does.

He finds his love in Tali'Zorah vas Neema (also has had a pretty ****ty life and stuck by Shepard against Sovereign) who is in turn seen as a traitor to her people and named Tali'Zorah vas Normandy. He falls in love with her then what?

If the situation were to arise in which I had to pick between saving the Citadel and saving Tali, hands down o pick Tali. My Shepard has had a ****ing horrible life and I think he deserves something that will make him happy. He isn't ****ing Spiderman so he won't watch the love of his life die possibly by his own hands.

Btw I'd totally take chocolate over the marshmallow.

HEY thats a  low blow against Spidey... He tried to save Gwen Stacy  and just reacted... he was trying to  save her and the snap back from the webbing broke her neck... It was  Green  Goblin that threw off the bridge in the first place... AND yes I knew exactly what you were  talking about... LOL   ]

a question you are traveling on a road with the two people you love the most.... you come to a Sphinx . the Sphinx  put  forth a question...

"To pass someone  traveling with you must die... Chose?"   The Galaxy or Tali?   that answer is simple... I die... and save them both.

It just doesn't make sense to me how Shep & Tali's relationship could ever be the deciding factor in whether the galaxy survives or not.. Just doesn't seem something that could make sense plot-wise..

Bioware would never do that; It's just way too mean :P

Though, if a situation like that DID ever occur, I don't think Tali would let us choose her. She'd be too concerned about the lives of the others out there rather than her own..

And while KFD makes great points, it is however, still my universe. And in my universe, everyone'll be dead while Shep and Tali live <3

Buuuut, That situation'll never happen sooo no worries..

Hm. What about if it came down to a case of "Press a button at a specific point in time in order to save the galaxy while your love interest is about to fall his/her death. Or you can save your love interest and either: a) risk dooming the galaxy but save your love interest, B) somehow manage to save the galaxy and your love interest, or c) doom the galaxy and fail to save your love interest (major suck)"?

Sorry KFD, but this sort of scenario just seems ridiculous to me. I seriously doubt something like it will appear in ME3. Antilles & Moth seem deadset on their wishes for our LI to die in ME3 though :(

Your all forgetting that you can also have NO love interest... That will probably mean that it won't have that big a role in the plot.

I was referring to the possibility that sometimes people are elevated into the limelight of life whether they want it or not, and in some cases this leads to what others perceive as "heroics" whether that person lives or dies. Even if the person survives the personal price tag of the heroics may be horrendous - this could for example entail losing a loved one or it could be losing a part of yourself in the process (psychologically and/or physically). "Welcome to the suck", as I understand it, is a phrase that's been used to describe a situation where you do something you may not really like nor approve of but you do it anyway because you believe it is required of you in order to achieve the objective.

Dumb random question, but this is the right place to ask it:

Do Quarians have hair?

It seems to me like grooming it in the suit would be really difficult.

No need for apologies, Yaz. :) I would be surprised if BioWare made the situation that simple; I merely used it as an example because it was simple and straight to the point. I favour multiple endings ranging from the classic fairy tale endings where the good guys ride in to the sunset together and the evil doers set in their place, to the Shakespearean or even Greek tragedies whereby you experience catharsis by realising that if only one detail or another had changed the protagonist's cruel fate could have been averted yet it is not to be ensuing in soul searching and heart wrenching sorrow/anger. BioWare has been known to pull such stunts before, IIRC, and they might do it again.

Unknown. Some suspect they do, others think they are hairless.

I remember people thinking the wires that you see at the back of male quarians is hair.

Personally, I don't know.

I'm urging no hair because they've been wearing helmets all the time.
But they could have evolved hair?

What a low blow that would be.  Tali like you said would never give us a choice.  She would disapear in the night and do what needs to be done and you would spend the rest of you life going after vengence.  You would become Liara.  What I do see is a confrontation between the relationship with her and the flotila.  She may be forced to choice us or the Migrant Fleet.

*Sigh* ... Really?

Tali will play the same roll in ME3 that she's always been intended to... She can't be too pivotal because she can die in ME2. Also, can we stop with the "BIOWARE DO THIS IN ME3 GODDAMN IT!" threads and just let them make the game they want to make? Please?

Yeah I can appreciate that, although I don't want to see that from Mass Effect 3. At least I don't want to be pigeonholed into it. I like that so far we've been able to make our own choices and depending on what we do end up with different conclusions each time, conclusions that are built upon and lead to even more choices and new situations in succeeding chapters.

What you're tyring to say is that nobody from ME2 will be important in ME3 because they all could die?

Do you even realize how FUBAR that is? Considering ME2 was mostly mission gaining their loyalty and learning about them?
