It didn't the first time she was with Shepard. Perhaps that has set a precedent or perhaps it is a case of Russian roulette every time Tali and Shepard shack up. I very much hope it is the former and not the latter.

So you say and I personally favour that approach, however it is not unrealistic that the alternative could be true. Malaria or diarrhea are survivable without treatment (though your odds are worse of for it,) but can still kill you if experienced again later on. Other examples exist but those two came to my mind first. Ok, technically it is not the diarrhea itself that can lead to death, but the dehydration and stress it places on the body. Under the right (or wrong as the case may be) conditions it can be lethal.
Yeah, KFD, you're talking about diseases.. which is just completely an inappropriate analogy. We're talking about an immune system reaction. This is no different to what Quarians go through with each other - its described in detail in-game how there is a period of time before two can be in the same atmosphere as each other without having sickness etc. Shepard isn't a disease!
I disagree. It is wholly appropriate because my examples specify that the diseases can be survived without treatment yet can still pose a health risk if encountered at a future date. Ergo, while Tali's immune system functioned well enough for her not to die from intimate activities with Shepard the first time, it is by no means a guarantee that she couldn't die from it if a future session were to transpire. Personally I do not want that to be the case yet it is scientifically possible.
But diseases are something different altogether. What we're talking about is an environmental issue.. and its already been specified in-game by Raan and others that, depending on the case it can be relatively short or long, all it takes is an adjustment period for their body to get used to a new environment. Of course the first few times there are some health risks but over time things build up to the point where there are no more health risks anymore.
I edited my previous post, but not in time apparently. The point I was illustrating with the two aforementioned diseases is this: The immune system can overcome various illnesses, infections, viruses, diseases, etc. yet just because it does so on one occasion does not mean it will be successful the next time it encounters the same illness, infection, virus or disease. Hence the reference to Russian roulette.

By the logic they use its not a sex scene because you don't see it happening like in ME1.. thats all. Seems like a weird conclusion to make tbh

It's quite clever of BioWare (presuming it is intentional which, if it isn't would seem a bit odd). This way they can cater to both groups simultaneously. Those who are convinced there was sex can be happy, as can those who think it is only a bit of kissing, petting and fooling around without going the full distance. That goes for the other romance scenes as well although admittedly some of them are bit harder to look through the fingers at.

Please take another look at what I said because it already addresses that:

I'm saying that over time their immune systems build up to a point where its not a concern at all. There is of course an initial period where there are some risks but it is not something that lasts forever, its something that takes some time and then passes.

I would definitely take the time to understand Quarian culture better - remember that Shepard is seeing Tali from an outsider's perspective. The Ascension novel helps indeed.
The more we understand Quarians, the better we'll understand Tali and her background. And the more we'll love her, of course
