Correctomundo my friend! Oh, and as for "putting some time in her"....That's not the only thing I'd like to put in her ifyouknowwhati'msaying.
You win.
Edit: Unless it kills her.
Would it kill her
It didn't the first time she was with Shepard. Perhaps that has set a precedent or perhaps it is a case of Russian roulette every time Tali and Shepard shack up. I very much hope it is the former and not the latter.
Of course its not a case of russian roulette
So you say and I personally favour that approach, however it is not unrealistic that the alternative could be true. Malaria or diarrhea are survivable without treatment (though your odds are worse of for it,) but can still kill you if experienced again later on. Other examples exist but those two came to my mind first. Ok, technically it is not the diarrhea itself that can lead to death, but the dehydration and stress it places on the body. Under the right (or wrong as the case may be) conditions it can be lethal.
Yeah, KFD, you're talking about diseases.. which is just completely an inappropriate analogy. We're talking about an immune system reaction. This is no different to what Quarians go through with each other - its described in detail in-game how there is a period of time before two can be in the same atmosphere as each other without having sickness etc. Shepard isn't a disease!
I disagree. It is wholly appropriate because my examples specify that the diseases can be survived without treatment yet can still pose a health risk if encountered at a future date. Ergo, while Tali's immune system functioned well enough for her not to die from intimate activities with Shepard the first time, it is by no means a guarantee that she couldn't die from it if a future session were to transpire. Personally I do not want that to be the case yet it is scientifically possible.
But diseases are something different altogether. What we're talking about is an environmental issue.. and its already been specified in-game by Raan and others that, depending on the case it can be relatively short or long, all it takes is an adjustment period for their body to get used to a new environment. Of course the first few times there are some health risks but over time things build up to the point where there are no more health risks anymore.
I edited my previous post, but not in time apparently. The point I was illustrating with the two aforementioned diseases is this: The immune system can overcome various illnesses, infections, viruses, diseases, etc. yet just because it does so on one occasion does not mean it will be successful the next time it encounters the same illness, infection, virus or disease. Hence the reference to Russian roulette.
Please take another look at what I said because it already addresses that:
"its already been specified in-game by Raan and others that, depending on
the case it can be relatively short or long, all it takes is an
adjustment period for their body to get used to a new environment. Of
course the first few times there are some health risks but over time
things build up to the point where there are no more health risks
anymore."
I'm saying that over time their immune systems build up to a point where its not a concern at all. There is of course an initial period where there are some risks but it is not something that lasts forever, its something that takes some time and then passes.
Irrelevant. Adjustment is all well and good but can only do so much. The risk of infection, disease, etc. will still exist regardless. The chances of successfully repelling such may increase, but that is not the same as eliminating all risk.
Umm.. no.. its not irrelevant. Because both real-world and in-game examples show it to be true. The fact that different populations in different parts of the world present complete immunities to various conditions and maladies where other populations are plagued by the same show it to be true. Besides, Quarians would have great difficulty reproducing if it wasn't true, and Quarian children would have great difficulty surviving. Not only that but its said by characters in-game that they can adjust after a while..
We are going to continue disagreeing on this. Real life has repeatedly demonstrated that while immune systems can build up tolerances and thus increase the chances of successfully surviving a health issue, it does not guarantee success each and every time. Not even in the case of all previously encountered illnesses, diseases, etc. that you may already have survived once. In some cases, having survived such an ordeal once may not even improve your odds the next time around. The specific disease or virus in question and it's traits are pivotal in determining this.
Apropos Quarians, Tali's and her "aunt's" description of her mother's labour did not sound as though it wasn't difficult nor without danger (which child birth is even under better circumstances). Adjustment to an extent which begs the question: To what extent? Adjustment to dust mites is one thing. Adjustment to human tuberculosis is another altogether.

For the love of God, why don't the devs answer? This thread is v2.0 and already beyond any other thread, heh.
Were we asking a question I'm unaware of?
Will Tali be in ME3 and what will be her role.
The questions's rite thar. ^
Of course, considering the fact that ME2 came out a few weeks ago, the devs wont be answering this question until much later on in the year, if at all this year. But do you really think the devs will ignore THIS MANY fans and NOT give Tali a pretty big role in ME3? I fully expect Bioware to be good to the community as they have always been and deliver something that all of the Talimancers will enjoy.
Yep, It was funny to see how many forum activities were in ME2.
Perhaps this thread will be in ME3.
You know, because of this thread being so damn epic, along with 1.0, I really wouldn't be surprised. I have never seen anything this big build up in the small amount of time the Tali fans have been coming together and supporting our favorite girl in the galaxy. Truly proud of what we can accomplish together!

Had asked a while ago, but since many new posters have joined, wanted to ask one last time. If you could live on the flotilla for one week, how would you spend it. It could be with Tali, or just quarians in general. Personally would spend most time with Tali. Would also like to see quarians music and dancing. At end of day, would cuddle with Tali in private quarters.
There's nothing much to learn of their culture since Tali tells you everything in ME1.
So it will be just haning in her old quarters.
KISSING.
Yeah, I'd do that too
