Tali FTW!
(I have decided that "Tali FTW!" shall be my sign on phrase, and "Keelah se'lai" shall be my sign off phrase. For those of you that don't know me I am the Tony Stark of this thread, as my avatar, which was added sometime yesterday if I am not mistaken, looks like Iron Man...
Just pointing that out)

I specifically kept using Legion in all of my playthroughs of the Suicide Mission simply because (before I knew of which characters to place in the team lead roles) I didn't want to risk Tali or Mordin. I didn't care very much about most of the characters though, and the game couldn't make me. While their personal missions were great for play, it didn't evoke any further affinity or sympathy.
It would be great if at least one of the squad mates in ME3 (new or otherwise) propelled the gameplay and affected its conclusion to such an extent that we have to keep them alive, no matter what. Critical Mission Failure sans Shepard's death? Oh, yeah, I'd love to see that made possible. (The Suicide Mission worked in that regard, but to a very small extent).

Tali: "Let go of him, you bosh'tet! *Tali unsheaths her knife and throws it straight into Harbinger's optics, causing him to release Shepard*"
It will be very funny xD:D:D
Yeah it would be, I don't think most people would see that coming.

Happy news! Come August it looks like we will be seeing the first wave of Mass effect 2 figures from DC Direct! In the first wave we have:
Male Sheperd
Grunt
Thane
and....
Tali!
Here's a picture of them. i15.photobucket.com/albums/a399/CONNOR2059/masseffecttwofigures.jpg
Keelah Se'lai everyone. Have brief moment away from experiments. Thermal issue from last evening may be resolved. Additional battery power may be required for prolonged use. Regarding link. Will buy immediately upon release.
I'm gonna buy them all.
With the exception of Shepard, Thane, and Grunt.

I find that image highly disturbing.

Whilst I somewhat agree with the plot critical planets vs exposition planets argument, I put forward this counter argument:
Mass Effect 2 is all about the crew. Shepard is practically a cardboard cut out when compared to - say - Garrus, or Zaeed. The collectors are Shepard's reason for being there. Shepard is the reason for the crew being there.
The collectors are there to give all your character development a situation/events to develop in. Mass Effect 2, like all other Bioware games, is not about the destination, but the journey you take, and who you take along for the ride.
I didn't play ME2 to kill collectors, I played it for more Garrus, more Wrex, more Joker, more Chakwas, and hell - even more Liara. I played it to meet these new characters, to get to know Thane, to wreck some **** with Jack, to stomp balls with Grunt, to smash geth aside with Kal'reeger...
...and to get Joker a "girlfriend", cos we all know he's the glue that binds the crew together. We love you Jeff!
But most of all, I played ME2 to spend time with Tali.
Get Joker a girlfriend?Don´t you think the ships A.I has a crush on Joker, too`?

ME1 was the game that introduced us to the Mass Effect universe (unless you read the novels first, but I'd guess that's a low percentage of people; I read both after ME1). ME2 was a game that many people expected a lot of, and my personal oppinion is that it delivered and surpassed our expectations.
Yes, ME1 did have a more complicated "plot story", since there was nothing else before it, and it had to draw us "in" the mass effect universe. ME2 has a very deep "companion story". Compare what we find out about Tali's father in ME1 and how much more we find out about him, about what he wanted, about his hopes for the future in ME2. In ME1, even Tali says something like she doesn't really know/understand her father, beyond his position as Admiral. In ME2, we actually learn how much he loved his daughter and what he hoped for her...
On the other hand, ME1 had indeed a deeper "plot" related to the reapers - which is normal, since we knew nothing of reapers before. But ME2 follows on that with all the little details like the mass effect cannon shot that disabled the ancient reaper, etc., etc...
In my view, the trilogy is like a sandwich: bread (ME1), filling (ME2), bread (ME3). You're not comparing which is better in a sandwich, the bread or the butter. Your're comparing the sandwich (mass effect universe) with another sandwich.
Hmm... maybe that's a bad analogy. But I like the whole ME, not ME1 vs. ME2.

Again, these figures will be due out in August courtesy of DC Direct.
I love how Shepard is a Neanderthal now.
I also like how the other three figures are all in an action-y sort of pose, and yet Tali's is just standing there, all bored looking.

Exactly! I would have loveloveloved if they had her standing in a relaxed pose, her weight shifted to one leg, a hand on her hip, and the other hand resting her shotgun on her shoulder. That would be awesome.
But, sigh. They gave her a boring pose.
