What poll is this, and how is Miranda even near Tali? There's no contest. Tali is the best. This is a fact.

If the lovely Tali does that she will instantly be relegated to the status of "space tramp" in my book. Samara? Where did you get off to?

these polls are cropping up everywhere. I'm beginning to think that it's in direct defiance to us

Even with my intense Tali love there's no way I can truthfully say that Tali is more useful than Miranda.  Not possible and for one reason and one reason only, your squadmates are near useless anyway, but Miranda improves Shepard's damage and since Shepard is 90% of your fighting force that's what matters.  Jack/Garrus/Samara get points for having useful loyalty abilities that you get to use.  Tali is just awesome, but that awesome doesn't translate to extra weapon damage for yours truly.

But tali has a shotgun! and a drone for a distraction!

Agreed. However, the poll was about who would win between Miranda and Tali, not about party combat boosting abilities. Both ladies can certainly hold their own, but asides from my bias what tipped the balance in favour of Tali for me are her demonstrable lightning fast reflexes (see: Quarian pounce). Now imagine that with that shiv knife she keeps in her boot.
