Ok, well it's covered in the official comic book. If you didn't buy the CE version did one of your friends? It illustrates how Liara goes to Omega to meet up with Thane and is attacked by mercenaries (Blue Suns I think?) in an effort to track down a Shadow Broker contact so they can reclaim Shepard's body. Apparently the Shadow Broker wants to sell it to the Collectors whereas Cerberus has been working with Liara to get it for their Lazarus project.

i got the CE edition and thats pretty much what happens in the comic book...

Ah, thank you. I wasn't quite sure that was right, but I've been eating brownies and my CE loves oily finger prints the way a fat kid loves cake, so I'm loathe to touch it unless absolutely necessary. :D

Indeed, I recently bought an amazing custom Alienware Aurora from a friend (only $150 for everything and it works great). Of course, there was a catch, the OS was wiped so I could build my gaming experience from the ground up, therefore I'm running Linux until I can afford Windows 7 and my Tali. Image IPB

I see, thats a good deal though... i got my PC for $1,000 Image IPB

I agree with your observations about Liara's changes, however she did not work for the Shadow Broker. Liara was/is actively trying to find the Shadow Broker and shut him/her/it down permanently. Furthermore, Shepard owes Liara a huge debt of gratitude. It was Liara, not Tali, nor Ashley/Kaiden, nor any of the other former party members who tracked down Shepard's dead body and then contacted Cerberus to have them bring him back to life. Love her or hate her, Liara is the individual with the single most responsibility for seeing Shepard back alive and in the process she has lost something of herself that she may perhaps never truly reclaim. That she has also possibly lost Shepard as her love (if the player opted to romance her in ME1) is about as tragic as it comes.

Source?

Liara speaks of her crusade against the Shadow Broker when you first meet her on Illium. As for finding his body that's in the first Mass Effect comic book which ships with the Collector's Edition. I'm not sure if anyone has scanned it and placed it online, so sadly no directly linkable source at present (I bought the CE and read the comic that came with it - it's pretty short but looks nice). I don't recall whether Liara mentions any of this during your meeting with her?

No, Liara never mentions that she was the one that located and gave Shepard's corpse to Cerberus.

Liara and Thane? Sounds like a non-canon fanfic to me.Image IPB

It's anything but fanfic though.

I am sorry there is only one woman for  Thane... and that is Samara ..

As indicated in another post, the Drell is not Thane, so now it makes more sense. I just found it really hard to believe that Thane just happened to be involved in Shepard's recovery.Image IPB

She does.  You do all her side missions and ask her to talk and she opens up to you.  i forgave her but i still didn't see why she couldn't come.  Oh well, her loss Tali's gain :P

Ah ha! I thought so! I did all her errands even though they earned me Renegade points (I completed ME1 with a full Paragon bar and just one - yes o-n-e - Renegade point. ME2 is darker, even while being set on pursuing a Paragon path I accrued numerous Renegade points. Good on BioWare for forcing the player to be a bit more dark and edgy given the events that unfolded.

Speaking of Tali, I had a fascinating dream last night that involved her. Though I can't remember every detail, what I remember most vividly is that we (I was Shepard) were caught purchasing illegal armor and some council ship demanded we surrender what we purchased. They chased us off Ilium and we said we were going to send them a helmet we purchased. We ended up ejecting a Vorcha head in a bag and then ran away in FTL.

After typing it out, it sounds really really strange.
