Ok i am curious....who do you guys think is the Canon Love Interest in 2.....I really believe it is Tali in my opinion....

But I get the impression sometimes it was intended to be Miranda.

It's really hard to tell, there's so many possible hints for all of them.
Miranda- hired established actress to VO her and be her face
Jack- The Dev team talk about her alot in interviews, including Casey Hudson
Tali- cuz she's friggin incredible! Also, a returning character, and the first of your old team that you meet in the game.

then there's always
Ashley- sort of the canon for ME1 apparently
Liara- probably the most common LI choice in ME1

So i dunno. Seriously hope it's Tali tho

I'm a veritiable engine of industry today, Knight. Three new compositions started and completed today (two this morning, one in the afternoon), grocery shopping completed and hours upon hours of posting on this thread while keeping an okay pace. Watch out mister!

Aw, she's not ugly. Her face is based on an actual person, hence why it's not perfect and turns some people off. I personally don't think it's the most beautiful of faces, but there is certainly beauty in it.

And then, of course, her body is fine.

I can appreciate Miranda while still loving Tali. I appreciate all the squad members. I just appreciate some of them more. Like Tali.

Miranda actually was Bio Ware's basic LI made for players. Tali LI factor was an addition to fill the ( let's name it properly ) too simple leaded Quarian-knowledge plot in the game. You know what i mean. There were actually some basic info of Tali, her race, migrant fleet etc. I suppose you felt you need to know more about it. This time BW gave us the full potential of seeing the fleet ( at least in part ), getting to know Tali and her sorrows better.



Conclusion: BW only did improved their position on the top RPG developers and in the eyes of their supporters. And what's most important - they gave us more of Tali!

Indeed it does.

Although If you play without an ME 1 save you don't get a love letter or nothing from Ash....so maybe it is just implied.......not sure........Either way I view my ME 2 Shep as single from the begginning.

See I don't look at it that way....to me they intended for Tali to be a Romance...maybe not in ME 1 but in 2

While I know you can pick who you want to be with there are still some things that stand in this games on going story.  I beleive that Liara is the true intended LI of the ME trilogy and that Tali is their strong second.  Both characters care for you deeply and they both hurt over your death and continued to either think about you and do things for you.  This is dispite how you may have treated them in ME1.

The canon LI in ME2 is no one. I had to play it since I didnt have an ME save, since I plaed ME1 on the 360.

From our perspective as Tali-fans, sure. However, if someone hasn't played any of the previous ME games when they play ME3 it could just as easily be Ashley, Liara or some other love interest since it would be an open field for all potential love interests that have existed. It might just be a simpler solution for BioWare to start ME3 without any love interest unless you import a character that had a love interest from the previous game(s). You could then romance a new character (or continue with the old love interest if you imported a character).

Would be funny if tali is only a romance in ME3 if you romanced her in ME2.

I think BW may just head in that kind of direction.

On my renegade playthrough she forgot all about shepard treating her like dirt, and fell in love with him in ME1 anyway!
