What's wrong, buddly ol' pal ol' chum?
We're here for you mate. Dun wurry.
It's a computer issue, about which I'm extremely sensitive... It's not "happening" yet, but I'm running windows 7 RC and I found workarounds to upgrade to my retail version without having to reinstall any programs or settings, it's supposed to be totally flawless. It was going fine until the upgrade setup told me that I need 16 GB of free space total to install, of which I have 5. The problem is, I can't even free them, because the total size of my drive that I'm running windows on is 40GB. Except I'm 99% sure the setup doesn't actually NEED 16 extra GB, there's no way the windows will weigh 30 GB total, as my current windows takes up around 15 GB, which is almost the same.
This points to the fact that it thinks it needs 16 more GB but it really doesn't, since it's only going to be overwriting the files that currenlty take up 15 GB, and adding 1 more GB on top of it, which I have space for. I'm not sure of this, but there's no way a windows OS will weigh 30 GB.
I posted on a forum and hoping that there's a way to trick the setup. But the chances of that are low. And the least thing I want to do is reinstall all my games and programs and settings. It's just... I hate doing that. And I'm extremely superstitious about computer issues, they get me on my kness really, I've had some bad experiences in the past.
So... yeah. It's really bothering me now. I've got less than a month until my windows starts shutting down every 2 hours due to RC Expiration. I can probably postpone this temporarily by changing my computer date since the counter depends on that, but so do many other things. So... this is bad, really bad.

This is true. NOT THE POINT. If everyone here who loves Tali realizes that sorrow can, and most often does lead to further love, than why do you feel the need to post that story? Really, I mean, if we get the concept and have known how it works since the launch of the game, what makes you think we want to experience sorrow?
Because if you experience sorrow, it helps you keep your frame of reference and makes the good times that much better.

Lol man, calm down. You're way overreacting, no matter if his intention was to troll or not, no fanfiction or behaviour on a forum would be worth getting that worked up over it.
Just try to get along you two.
no no no, i'm not overreacting! i'm actually standing up to the troll unlike you! its so easy to sit around and not do anything and you know what? thats why the world is so screwed up nowadays!!
I;ve been here too long and seen too many trolls to just let this one pass, you know what? your falling for his trap! he wants you to think he's innocent and ignore him that way he thinks he can do it again with no reprecussions? You know where that happened before in history? In WWII, if we had actually stood against Hitler when he invaded Czechslovakia and Poland then he would''ve been beaten!
But instead you know what happened? people like you decided it was best to ignore him and let him take what he wanted, and then he got greedy and wanted more and by then Britain was almost defeated... That kind of thinking is a huge Human flaw! I'm tired of people saying i'm overreacting! At least i'm reacting instead of ignoring!
Uh.. the best way to fight forum trolls is to ignore them. "Standing up" to them is exactly what they want, and what makes them come back. And that you're comparing this to the world war, *does* indicate that you're overreacting.
I didn't mean to offend you or anything, so please don't jump at me like that either. Trolls aren't dangerous, they aren't criminal, they're nothing, just a nuisance. Instead of trying to exterminate all ants on the planet, it's much easier and better for everyone involved to simply ignore them, no?

I had Ash, even though I liked her due to her looks (Tali was my first choice also,... was disapointed not able to go forward, searched on internet endlesly to find some grian of hope for romance in ME1), I fear Tali will kick Ash out of the door first chance she has....
I had Ash on my first playthrough.. well, both, but picked Ash. Next playthrough, Liara. Then none. Then Liara due to catfight option. Been either none or Liara from there.
In Mass Effect 2, I'm afraid it'll be Tali Tali Tali Tali Tali Tali Tali, and I'll never get myself to witness the other romances.
[/quote]
I could not get it over my heart to go trough with other romances, I just wathced them on youtube instead

Comparing trolls to a national organisation of Nationalist-Socialist Germans is irrelevant.

Then I don't see how this is lore unfriendly, when the lore of this game is basically what we make of it in relation to the main characters. I did not post this expecting anger in particular. I expected emotional responses for sure, but anger was not my sole intent.
And just because my account is new does not mean I have not seen this forum before. I simply did not have an account until recently.
you say at the end that she's exiled as well as other things, if you actually played the game and payed attention you'd know that, that wouldn't happen.
And you even admit that you wanted to inspire anger within everyone here? i can only assume your other attempt was to get everyone to respond and start a flame war...
Also i kinda figured that you would be reading this thread and then think "hmmm what can i do to ****** them off? oh how bout write something that has no emotional value and then defend it like i'm an innocent noob!" well you are a noob, maybe you should try arguing with the Miranda fans, you'd have a better chance.
My problem was the fact the came here with a (well-written) bullsh*t story about how Tali literally SUFFERS...
hang on, I'll repeat that...
SUFFERS!!!
and expects us to clap and sip tea about it. All I can say is, bloody trolls...
The fact that the character is someone you like is what makes the suffering so powerful. If I wrote a story about a character no one liked suffering, they would not feel anything for it, but by writing about one that people do enjoy, it has power and meaning. If this makes me a troll, fine, but I stand staunchly by my claim that trolling was not my intent.
its the way it was written was what made people mad, not the fact that Tali suffers in it. In the story you depicted shepard as being a complete a**hole. Regardless if shepard loved her or not, he would not be happy that a member of his crew died. And regardless the way you feel about somebody, if their dying in your arms, why wouldn't you for the love of god tell them whatever they wanted to hear, regardless if its true or not, just to ease their passing. This wasn't so much about Tali suffering as it was about shepard being a an uncaring sob.
If somebody you even remotely knew was dying in your arms you wouldn't laught or ignore him/her. Even if you didn't know the person you would still feel guilty/sad because it is another living being. You may have or not liked them but not feeling anything at all isn't normal...It's not human.

You said in your story that it was the happiest time of shepards life when one of his crewmates died. That doesn't seem to fit shepards character regardless of paragon or renegade. You also said in a previous post that to have empathy for someone you must love them, which i'm afraid is not true.

I'm sure you only mean well and want to make the world better. But flaming back at trolls on forums, only fuels the flames. To pick up your earlier argument, it's like starting a civil war to prevent Hitler's uprising. Fighting fire with fire isn't always a good idea.
And this has nothing to do with poor people or anything. You can neither keep the trolls from trolling, nor can you protect other people from them. All you can do is ignore them, or perhaps send a PM to a moderator about it.
Try to calm down, getting upset over forum trolls really doesn't help anyone. Least of all when you become a troll in the process.
