Throughout the suicide mission, I just wrestled with what to do with the station., I eventually gave it to Cerebrus: They will probably use it for evil in the future, but with that tech, our chance of seeing that future is much higher than it was before/ Would rather end up fighting a dominate Cerebrus than be dead. I kept Tali close though. As for the Geth/Quarian possibilities:

If war, the Quarians better not go at it alone. Their fighting ability seems extremely low. The Geth would wipe the floor with them. They would need at least Human help. 
But hopefully peaceful settlement of a new homeworld can be achieved.

Honestly, my major concern through the suicide mission was "Oh, hopefully I can keep my allies alive!", not "Oh, I hope we'll manage to save the galaxy together, even if some of the team might die!"

I'd rather go at the Reaper fleet with a pocket knife than letting Tali die.

Sure, since ME2 was very much about the team you were assembling, with the greater story being a bit bare-boned in comparison.

In ME3 we will probably look at the bigger picture again, since it seems that a huge fleet of Reapers are incoming and one ( Harbinger ) is loose in the galaxy right now to facilitate their return.
