You know, that's a great picture....but with so much of Quarian life and culture revoling around being locked in a suit all the time...I would be pretty amazed if long, flowing, magnificently coifed locks of hair flow from her helmet. (Even though it does make a stunning visual.)

It looks like someone photoshopped an elves head onto Tali's body. Just look at the disparity in resolution between her head and her body.

But, you have to remember the sheer size of the Migrant Fleet. Even though they have few purely militaristic craft, I'm sure most of their ships have some form of automated defense weapons.

And are we talking pre- or post-Reach UNSC EDF? I know they lost a lot of their ships sending them to Reach to try to drive the Covenant back.

well, tali did say that the suits they'er trapped in have more pockets than one would think, so lots of headroom for untrimmed hair would be completley unfeasable  
also iono, but the quarians' history of being frail and more likely to adapt to new enviornments than resist seem kinda elfish to me, i really don't know why XD plus they seem to all have the same slim body shape
finally, i fancy the idea that quarians color their suits according to their hair color, because kal'reegar with red hair would be awesome >
