But things might change. 
Ahhh.... nevermind. They'll probably come up with Mass Effect MMO or something.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought a ME: MMO would happen.

Oh god.. that would be horrible. I don't want this amazing setting and universe reduced to that. I will never forgive Bioware if they crap all over Mass Effect like that. I don't think they will though.

At least not until some EA suit thinks that they have milked the ME universe enough and now that they have say several million fans and at least 2 million who would buy and at least play a ME MMO for 6 months (or what ever that magic number would make it profitable) and make Bioware do so.

Square-enix( formally known as Squaresoft)  has  13 count em 13 final fantasy games in the series. Not counting the GBA Remakes, Crisis Core, Crystal Chronicles, Dissidia.    The point is  that  Bioware wants a game that can compete with Final Fantasy  with that kinda of longevity.  I would not be surprised to more Mass Effect  Games but  EA is just the publisher and Distributor.  EA is also under new Management too (forgot the guys name) but he has complete restructured the place and shrunk the sports division down  last I heard and killed the Medal of Honor Series.

Except that BioWare is no Nintendo nor SquarEnix. Those two companies are living off their name primarily, IMO (yes, there are others who will disagree which is fine). It wouldn't be the first time BioWare has gracefully retired a franchise despite it being some of their finest work and a huge public craving for more ("Baldur's Gate II and it's expansion "Throne of Bhaal" are a classic example). True, eventually BioWare did a spiritual successor to that franchise but it still didn't pick up from where it left off (i.e. Dragon Age is its own world,) and it took them 10 years before they truly went back. Also, "Medal of Honor" has a new entry coming later this year or next year set in Afghanistan. I look forward to it and if EA holds the course with the type of DRM it has used for both DA:O and ME2 then I will be happy to continue buying from them (Activision on the other hand can go suck a big one). All in all, I can think of few things gaming related that would make me happier nor more excited than to discover that BioWare might make more ME games after ME3.

Ouh! That reminds me: Not even the Protheans knew whom or what created the mass relays....There's definitely the potential to tell an epic story there. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a grand strategy game of the ME universe, though I would likely always prefer ME in its current FPS/RPG genre.

Exactly. Humans arive at another galaxy telling the aliens there that they killed the Reapers and not only saved their galaxy but all the others as well.
Since EA also has rights to the Battle for middle earth design. Just use that kind of epic RTS in the ME universe.
But the FPS/RPG can't be beat.

I don't mind a  game companies  milking a series for what its worth as long as the content is good.  I want to see more ME games, new characters different planets...damnit I WANT to go to Earth in ME.  Get knee deep in Alliance political intrigue.  Maybe a Mass Effect  RTS that would be interesting.

I stay away from the conversations between shooter fan boys. It would be like walking into a Thresher Nest with a pea shooter.... geek moment.

ME RTS. Play as Alliance, Quarian, Turian, Asari, Geth, Cerberus, Collector. This has been thought out by my friends and I.

I don't want an MMO either. I detest the subscription based model for games. I want a complete gaming experience once I've purchased the initial packet. Expansion packs and reasonable DLC is one thing, physically being unable to play the game I purchased if I don't continue shelling out money every month is another matter entirely. Besides, due to MMOs nature they have to set the bar lower in order to cast a wider net. I prefer my games to be more polished than that. That said, I've never played an MMO so perhaps I'd change my mind. If any MMO setting has the potential to reel me in it would be the ME universe.

Enough said. I don't want ME crapped all over like that. An MMO means a watered down grindfest at the end of the day. I don't want to see our beloved Tali as just a questgiver stuck there over and over and over again, I don't want to see that happen to any of our characters or places..

Last one I played was Guild Wars 3 years ago....so yea. I'm not an MMO guy. I just thought ME would be the best ground to make a good one though. But point taken.

Try Guild Wars its free... no month subscription fee.  They could go with the Fallout 3 model  i like had Bethesda handle DLC for that game

Considering the relative similarity with the Star Wars setting and the fact that Bioware are working on The Old Republic (MMO) - which is VERY amibtious -, a Mass Effect MMO is highly unlikely at the moment (thank Keelah!).



If TOR will be a success, there will be no resources to work on a ME MMO. If TOR will be anything less than success, Bioware will not push on the idea of making another MMO. At least that's my train of thoughts...

That it is, and I would have bought one of the entire collector's packs by now if it weren't for the fact that "Guild Wars 2" is on its way. It's also said to be subscription free in which case I may buy it.

Hear, hear! A bit vindictive perhaps, but I bear little love for them.
