 I didn't like the confrontation on Horizon either, but i can understand it if Bioware did it to have the virmire survivor play a larger roll in 3.

I used to feel exactly like you do but, I think my anger was misplaced before. I absolutely adored Ash in Me1
but then seeing her on Horizon angered me to no end. Its what drove me to
become quite the tali fan.

Ash's love story arc might actually be really good, if not the best. Partially because it
was able to cause that much emotion (anger in this case) in me in 2. I really kind of understand  shepard when he goes, "I've had enough of this colony." on Horizon. I can only imagine the amount of utter joy I would feel in 3 if Ash and my Shep patches things up and she came back as a squad mate.

Mark Meer won me over with that very line. Idk why...just the way he said it, he sort of cracks up when saying "colony" and I really believed he was emotionally disturbed.

You are right though, how can any LI compare to Tali and Garrus who have been there throughout? I think Ashley/Kaiden + Liara is a must in ME3...will be very interesting..I need to play ME2 with one f my characters that actually had a LI in ME1.

That's my point of view as well, however it is worth mentioning that many of the new team members in ME2 only pledged themselves to Shepard for that one specific mission against the Collectors. Some of them appeared willing to consider staying on, but it was by no means guaranteed. However, it would seem wasteful to discard many of those same characters only to have new ones show up in ME3.

I'm sure you'll see most, if not all of the ME2 team back, provided you saved them. Mass Effect 2 was about building your team, the Collector's just provided an excuse (A good one, though.) for you to build up your team of leet specialists. Bioware isn't going to drop all these characters to a minor cameo and make you recruit an entirely new team for the -last- game in the series. That would just be stupid. There may be a few new characters, less than a handful i'm sure, that'll be added on to your squad. But that's it.

Any characters that die on your suicide mission simply won't be around for you to use. Simple as that. It allows Bioware to retain people's favorite characters, while making the decisions and consequences of the final mission in ME2 carry weight.

I also think who lives or dies on your suicide mission will determine how hard Shepard's journey in Mass Effect 3 will be. If you don't lose anyone, the journey could be significantly easier. If you lose many team members in ME2, Shepard's mission in ME3 could have dire consequences.

Just a thought.

Tali had no reason to trust any but Jeff, Garrus, Chakwas, and Shepard. Jacob comment could have waited for less sensitive moment than debrief. Mention AI on ship to a QUARIAN? Bad planning.

This is on a different character of course. The one that romanced tali, will always be with tali.

I dunno, just venting I guess. And if you don't like Ashley at all, thats fine with me obviously, its all just a matter of taste. The only character so far I've disliked was SuZe though.

I feel the same way. Tali is still special in a way that none of the other ME LI have been for me, but I adored Ashley. There are still roots there waiting to sprout siblings again. However, I'm sticking with Tali with my current Shepard, or more likely I will engage in judicious usage of saves throughout ME3 and jump back and forth to test the different outcomes.

Kinda clinical, don't you think?  I think the beauty of the game is that you have that one first game where you know none of the consequences and every decision you make may have consequences you never realised.

General consensus is second. Not with 100% certainty, however.

I went back and tested it twice last night.

After doing the final mission 7 times, it went like this:
1 - Chose Garrus first, Tali second. Garrus slid, saved him.
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - Chose Garrus / Mordin first, Tali second. Tali slid down and was saved all 6 times.

It may not be 100%, but it seems to be a very high probability, nonetheless.

I knew it! I had Samara operate the omni tool and she was second in my party at the end boss while Tali was first, and it was Tali I saved from sliding off the edge of the platform. Appears to be a random system then. Good to know.

fanfiction.net has a ton of tali/shepard stories.... however, some give less to fill in with your imagination that others  - still, there are some pretty decent ones on it.

That's my point of view as well, however it is worth mentioning that many of the new team members in ME2 only pledged themselves to Shepard for that one specific mission against the Collectors. Some of them appeared willing to consider staying on, but it was by no means guaranteed. However, it would seem wasteful to discard many of those same characters only to have new ones show up in ME3.

I'm sure you'll see most, if not all of the ME2 team back, provided you saved them. Mass Effect 2 was about building your team, the Collector's just provided an excuse (A good one, though.) for you to build up your team of leet specialists. Bioware isn't going to drop all these characters to a minor cameo and make you recruit an entirely new team for the -last- game in the series. That would just be stupid. There may be a few new characters, less than a handful i'm sure, that'll be added on to your squad. But that's it.

Any characters that die on your suicide mission simply won't be around for you to use. Simple as that. It allows Bioware to retain people's favorite characters, while making the decisions and consequences of the final mission in ME2 carry weight.

I also think who lives or dies on your suicide mission will determine how hard Shepard's journey in Mass Effect 3 will be. If you don't lose anyone, the journey could be significantly easier. If you lose many team members in ME2, Shepard's mission in ME3 could have dire consequences.

The ending of ME2 might influence who is part of your crew, but I doubt that they will really have any significant impact in ME3. I mean, they did show that most of the decisions from the first one have very little consequences on the actual events.

I couldn't care less for Ashley... honestly.

 I didn't like the confrontation on Horizon either, but i can understand it if Bioware did it to have the virmire survivor play a larger roll in 3.

I used to feel exactly like you do but, I think my anger was misplaced before. I absolutely adored Ash in Me1
but then seeing her on Horizon angered me to no end. Its what drove me to
become quite the tali fan. 

I'm beginning to think that
Ash's love story arc might actually be really good, if not the best. Partially because it
was able to cause that much emotion (anger in this case) in me in 2. I really kind of understand  shepard when he goes, "I've had enough of this colony." on Horizon. I can only imagine the amount of utter joy I would feel in 3 if Ash and my Shep patches things up and she came back as a squad mate.

This is on a different character of course. The one that romanced tali, will always be with tali.

I dunno, just venting I guess. And if you don't like Ashley at all, thats fine with me obviously, its all just a matter of taste. The only character so far I've disliked was SuZe though.
