I just wonder why, in all the romances, you immediately jump from smalltalk to sex. what is up with that? for tali it makes a bit of sense, she cant leave the suit, but do you never have dinner? or just look through one of the windows together at the vastness of space?
also, what is the specific reason that quarians are humans cannot reproduce?

First: Tali was in love with you since your adventures in ME1, she was just that you din't feel the same. Also, mask.

But yes, its jumps to physical contact pretty fast.
Thats why I would like to see a DLC with a date.

I think the other reason might having been how Quarian society works she was on her pilgrimage so "technically" underage

the reason for the rapid progression is the fact that they are going on a SUICIDE mission... It will most likely be up to us in ME3 to determine if it's a true relationship...

Their DNA is the exact opposite, what's on the right for humans is on the left for Quarians. This means their amino acids are totally different and make reproduction impossible.

That explanation doesn't make much sense, both pairs can be set both directions in humans, so why wouldnt they combine normally? The problem is probably that they have other than 46 chromasomes, or genes are located in a different area of the chromasome

No, it's about chirality in biology, especially in aminoacids (and not DNA pairs). There's only left chirality on Earth. Quarians have right chirality.

This has been debated at length around pages 400 of the thread.

In any case, see http://en.wikipedia....ity_(chemistry) for a not very clear description; especially this passage: "Most scientists believe that Earth life's "choice" of chirality was purely random, and that if carbon-based life forms exist elsewhere in the universe, their chemistry could theoretically have opposite chirality".

In any case: Tali for ME3!!

EDIT: corrected left/right swap, sorry.

my 360 also rrd, but the simplest explanation I heard was this. If you look at a dna strand it twists. In humans it twists to the left (levo), but in quarians and turians it twists to the right (dextro). It's above my head, but anyway hope it helps.

I've been toying around with an idea for something for Mordin to do. Some.... I dunno, gene therapy or genetic mod that could alter Shepard's genetic code to that of a dextro base. I remember sometime a few pages back that a person's genes could rewrite the mirrored codes, viewing it as an anomaly that should be fixed. Enter the genius salarian scientist to make Shepard's body rewrite itself. I'm guessing the process would be unpleasant and not easily reversible. It'd be a one way trip... but I can't think of a better way of showing that you'd go all the way by forsaking your protein base.

<.<;

And I think that was more of a ramble then a coherent post.

I'd invite her to watch the classical earth vid "Terminator". I believe she'll enjoy its story, of humans developing a rogue AI that nearly wipes them out but they resist and fight, and--at least in the scope of the movie's plot--triump over the machine. :P

Uh. theres not "only right chirality on Earth" just FYI. Earth has both Right ® or left (S). And in fact you come into contact with both on any givien day. Furthermore dextro and levo are not directly tied to chirality but actually are terms to signify which direction light spirals when passed through the molecule.
