Assistance necessary. Need title for chapter on Legion recovery, Tali present.

"Friend or Foe"  ?

Not too original I guess but still. Or play off the fact that it is an intact Geth, and Tali is unsure about taking it...etc.

I considered that as well, and it syncs up with the IFF you where sent to get, Internal Friend or Foe system.

Wasn't it "Identify Friend or Foe"?

"Identification of friend or foe" or "Identify Friend or Foe" as you say.

Well yes, and no.  I would think that if "Shepard's bacteria" were some static, unchanging quantity then theoretically yes, eventually her immune system would adapt to the ever-present biologic matter.  This of course provided something silly didn't happen, like some random Quarian sneezing on Shepard's sleeve and making him an unknowing carrier of Quarian ebola or something, that would then infect Tali in a real sense, rather than an immuno reaction to foreign biologic matter.  Would make her SICK sick, not just symptoms of an immuno response sick.

Therein lies the problem though.  With Quarians and their suit linkage, the things each Quarian is being exposed to remains contant.  There isn't some new and exciting bacterium sneaking it's way in passed the seals of one suit and taxing their immune systems further.  It's presumably a steady, slow adaptation to biologic matter that is ever-present and unchanging within those self contained environments, until eventually they each are well enough adapted to the other that they may be suitless in the same scrubbed environment, such as in birthings.

Shepard's issue is that he is by default, suitless.  The biologic matter he carries is not a constant.  He could shake someone's hand one day, pick up some new and exciting germs.  Lean against a bulkhead the next thinking over a report he's read, more new and exciting germs.  And each time Tali and Shepard share a moment, her immune system will be taxed with the job of isolating and adapting to/destroying the new and exciting germs.

So while Tali may eventually be able to adapt to Shepard's normal compliment of tiny and nasties, her immune system will be continually bombarded by the biologic matter that he is unwittingly exposed to every day.  Her immune system will never be able to adapt fully, as it would not know what would be getting thrown at it the next day.

Unless of course your Shepard, like mine, is 100% willing to sport a ziplock-suit for the rest of his days for his Tali

Would still make easier on immune system each time. Reduce number of bacteria to have reaction to. Would never be fully immune due to random bacteria, but overall chances should reduce.

Proof that Tali can immune system can compensate for shepards presence (or anyones or any enviroment over time).

Wait for it...

Wait...

Quarians didn't always were suits. Thats right, they used to have a embassy on the citidel where they were around dozens of other alien species in an alien environment.

DINGDINGDINGDING We have a winner. Its Shepard.

Ha, at least I got page 850... I guess this thread will be well past 900 when I wake up tomorrow. ^^

I hope a representative of BW comes out soon to give us at least a shred of info on what is in store for Tali in ME3. Pretty please? :)

That was a heck of a comprehensive over-view. Thank you for that. Well, from what little I understand of Biology and the Theories behind Xeno-Biology, the conclusion you reached is about as much as I figured the resulting outcome would be. Though I understand that Shepard could be introduced, on a regular basis, to new Foreign containminants, would said contanminants remain solely on Shepard's Skin, or would they find thier way into his blood stream, fluidic system, etc? If not, well, would it not be feesible than for Shepard to say...simply take a decon-Shower before making Love to Tali, so as to not introduce any microbes she is not already familiar with on a Biological level?
[/quote]

The only way to kill all the bacterium would be exposure to radiation high enough to kill it even so humans consume all kinds of bacterium ever day which end up living in our guts these end up leaving our bodies one way or another this is good for us but not someone in Tali's condition. So even if he did take a decon shower he still might be a carrier of something nasty enough to kill with very little between Tali and the Almighty. Best thing to do would be to expose Tali to as many of these contaminates as possible over a long period of time in an "unclean" environ and ummm hope she survives (That which does not kill us makes us stronger). This is akin to making someone who is allergic less reactive with small doses of allergens (she even suggests that this is the case - Only Turians can give her a serious problem).
It is also possible for Shepherd to enter a "suit" life himself and share the danger (a weapon unused is a useless weapon).

As for my Shepherd he would crawl over broken glass naked for his Tali. She is the warmest character in the game and impossible to resist (got pissed off when Zaeed let her die! But decided to live with it to see what ME3 does...female shep anyway). She was completely unexpected since I considered her a wall flower in ME1 (sneaky bastards at BioWare...I mean that in a good way).

If agree, why comment?

Horse.  Dead horse.  Why so hostile, Doc?  I mean, I've been barked at for many things in my days, some barkings deserved, some less so.  But never before for expressing agreement.  Thank you for broadening my horizons this day.

And this would be why I replied.  I'm not engaging in conversation with you, I'm engaging in conversation with the board at large.

To your question glenboy24, undoubtedly contaminants would be introduced to Shepard internally, everything we eat and drink has small and nasties in it, they just generally aren't a big deal to our immune systems, and the susequent isolation and destruction of the contaminants is so small as to be unnoticed entirely by us.

But as to where you're going with this (I think) those contaminants shouldn't be an issue for Tali.  If it gets inside of us, our bodies will generally quick-step to take care of it.  Very little goes unnoticed by the human immune system.  But for the things that do go unnoticed/are ignored as they pose so little threat, and how detrimental to the health of a Quarian those things might be, I cannot speculate.  Best just to follow Mordin's advice right here and avoid "ingesting" I think.

Decontamination shower?  Sure, every little bit helps, right?  Thing is, as with the doorstep to the Normandy, there's no such thing as "completely decontaminated" only decontaminated to acceptable levels.  Our acceptable level is obviously much higher than a Quarians, so it'd have to be a pretty tweaked out shower to catch anything and everything dangerous to a Quarian.
Maybe stop by the flotilla and ask if expecting mothers have any type of portable decontamination apparatus they use when preparing for a birth?  If looking for the best of the best decontamination tech, that'd be the first place I'd look.  Them Quarians know them some germ killing, I'd bet.

Do you think I should try and see if Bioware have any openings for Mass Effect writers? Can't hurt, right?

Tis not a geth, tis a very naughty boy! :P

Nah, it's a quarian. Ascension is about the Ascension project - a human 'college' for biotic kids, some nasty business with Cerberus, and the quarian migrant fleet. Tis very good. I'd highly recommend it. :D
