^ True, sir. Not only that, playing ME2 twice now has gotten me interested in ME1 again, so I just beat that again, now I'm ready to import and play ME2 a third time. I'm going to find every Tali-related easter egg (and play cards with her for the first time!)
By the way can anyone give me advice on who's the best 3rd squadmate to go with an Infiltrator + Tali? A biotic would be ideal, obviously, but who?

What difficulty are you going through? If it's anything under hardcore, I'd say take anyone you want!  If that's not the case, take Miranda!  Her overload, warp, and squad bonuses rock pretty hard.

But Liara underwent a definite personality change. Perhaps she became possessed by a Reaper or something in those two years Shepard was "dead".

Why would she provide us with helpful information on Samara and Thane, instead of luring us into a trap with her own "muscle", or mercs, or however she called it? Why'd she kiss Shep if they were together in ME1?

She's  not with the reapers, that would make no sense, if she was why would she be obsessed with killing the shadow broker.

Oh and what I miss while I was gone?

Well, let's be vague and say that, in ME3, one of your squadmates stages the ultimate betrayal.

Why are you so keen on being betrayed?

Because, if used correctly (betrayals to tend to be clinche in and of themselves), it can be a cool plot device.

I find a biotics use limited. Always took Grunt, he usually charges and keeps them distracted long enough for me to put out a few headshots :P. Well, except any Husk-heavy mission, Jacobs area pull is a OHKO on husks.

They might get indoctrinated by another

Situational. If fighting husks, bring Jack for shockwave, or Grunt for charge.
If fighting mercs/collectors bring short ranged partner. Then snipe while partners keep covered.

The only one who seems to be in the position to be indoctrinated seems to be Liara. Getting far too close to the Shadow Broker <_<. As long as they don't indoctrinate Tali or Mordin..

I'm all for doing multiple playthroughs on these types of games and I am obsessed with the ME universe but I have to ask, you guys doing 13 and 16 playthroughs, what are you getting out of doing so many?

Holy crap! 13-16?!
I did 4 on ME1 and on my 2nd on ME2. Where do you people find the time?

I technically have 12 playthroughs, yes. But not all are complete. Not all I mean to complete.

I have only about 4 that have completed the main story: My very first import, that same one restarting on Insane and completing that, then 2 others that I did for messing with other dialogue options. The rest are other classes, which I have only gotten to Omega or at most Horizon on. I was just testing out each class to see their different benefits. A couple others are just there as templates in case I ever want to explore something more in the game. I have done that once, where I took a character I made specifically to get Legion as fast as possible and bring him everywhere I could after that, to see special dialogue.

So yeah...not like I spend every waking hour of my life playing new playthroughs or anything. True, I spend a good amount of time, but it's time well spent I say. No harm in exploring the game and universe I love.

I would love to see Tali get kidnapped and a quest spawns in which Shepard has to rescue her. Or any other LI can be used as such.

Even Liara unlikely. Betrayel cheesy plot device. Bioware capable of making moving story without resorting to tired mechanism.

I have to disagree. If insanity has taught me anything, warp is the best power in the game.

Also, a rank one throw kills an unarmored husk in one hit.

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if
Liara or Ash betrayed Shepard. I mean Ash was one of the only
survivors during the Collector attack.

Tali would fry the
Reaper and Mordin would talk so much that the reaper would kill it
self.

Reading a book ATM, and monitoring some fanfiction. I expect traffic will get slow tomorrow, what with school and all.

BTW, how's the fanfic coming along Himmelstor?

It certainly is cliche, but it can also be a good driving point for the story, giving the protagonist an unexpected obstacle to overcome.

And I can relate to you wanting the trilogy to end with the 'bad guys' winning, but sadly, that's a terrible idea economically. The audience wants to be the victor: Especially when we're the ones in control. Imagine it like this: You've played all three games, doing one impossible thing after the next as Commander Shepard... only to be blindsided at the very end, with no way to counter it. So, in essence, your entire story was moot. You saved the galaxy *two* times, only to have it destroyed in the end. And there was nothing you could do about it.

Doesn't sound like a game a lot of people would want to play.

Closing thought: I wouldn't put it past Bioware to have a negative ending in ME3. There's  negative ending in ME2. If you play well enough in ME3, you emerge victorious. Play poorly, making bad decisions, and it costs you. That way, at least the player feels responsible, rather than having their demise thrown upon them.

Thanks. Grunt also has the advantage of never dying :P even when charging and exploding a mech. Thane also doesn't seem to ever die. Freakin assassins.

Agreed. Warp is an amazing all-purpose tool. Destroys shields, r*pes armor, and does a sh*tload of damage, to boot. And with a fairly short cooldown at max rank!

Sounds like the perfect Asian ending to the story...everyone dies.

True. Warp is the universal Thing Killer. Thane is Warp and Throw, yes? How can Garrus compare? (I want to roll with my ME1 squaddies, Garrus and Tali, my best friend and my best friend-turned-lover).
