Lots of husks and probably some other race like the Collectors that was repurposed by the Reapers.

Hopefully by that time the various races will have learned about gun turrets and you will not have to maneuver the entire ship to get a shot off.

I'm kinda thinking a combo of the mechanics of ME2 with Dragon Age Origins.... You go to each species and rally them up against the reapers, possibly distributing the tech you put into the Normandy. Your actions in one and two dictate the difficulty and availability of each race's recruitment.... or something.
