Having sexual images in this thread is only making the thread more likely to be closed, and our critics to be declare ourselves as increasingly creepy. But it doesn't belong here, and it is already causing a rift among posters.

I'm not actually opposed to this being drawn or shown on deviantart or whatnot. I'm opposed to it being posted on a public forum where it may or may not break the rules at a time when every Tali discussion beyond this one has people calling us weird,

The artist has good intentions, I'm sure. But going from saying dem hips to semi-porn? That is a leap.

I appreciate your concern, yet there have been several other instances where topics brought up in this thread have violated forum rules. Examples? Talk of politics, religion, gender & sexuality issues, detailed guides and discussions of how to employ unorthodox methods to achieve ends both in ME2 and on this forum that are not officially sanctioned by BioWare (that one in particular is probably the worst culprit), etc. and now a bit of gratuitous yet not outright porn images make it to the thread (incidentally Rule 34 of the internet was brought up a day and a half ago some 100+ pages back - I'm guessing it was even more explicit than this). The point being this: If BioWare want to shut this thread down they can do so at any time - with or without "official justification". Let's just keep on moving. After all, a moving target is ever so much more difficult to hit.

Speaking of which, personally I thought a lot of people were overreacting and/or feigning greater offence than they may have felt simply to fit in with the spirit of things regarding that doll. Sure, it looked a right mess but truly disturbing? Insufficient data on the person or persons responsible to make a truly well informed decision on such a matter.

Look, clearly it splits the community on that issue. Its better to just avoid having nudity in the thread, even if because its just against the rules of the board.



What I take issue with though is how people seem to worry about what idiot trolls think. It doesn't matter what they think! I'm not going to stop doing anything because some idiot decides to troll and say "omg ur creepy", thats not a good enough reason.



Splitting the community and it potentially being a violation of rules, thats a good reason.



But saying "omg somebody thinks its creepy" is not a good reason.

I'll respond by saying this:
Politics, sex, religion, ways to game the game- these things can sneak by in the walls of text and a dirge of posts. However, a big semi-porn image is pretty simple to actually see and judge in a second.
For the record, I think it is drawn well. I think on deviantart or someplace else, or a link fron here, it would be absolutely fine. I don't mind people choosing to draw Tali like that. Do I actually want to look at it? Meh, not really. But others do and that is okay. I just don't want a rule that could shut us down be broken for the sake of a drawing, and I don't want to give people who eventually hamper my forum experience because of their impact to be given more ammunition. 
But yes, let us talk about something else.

Let us say Tali was wounded. Knowing how her suit works, what sort of wound would be small enough to cause an extreme issue?

It wasn't them thinking we're creepy that is the damaging part. It is them telling neutral third parties that we're creepy that comes back to bite me two days later in a topic or on MSN that is the danger.

See my previous post. I don't give a wooden nickel what others in this forum think of me regarding Tali to be frank, and I most certainly will not live my life - even if it is only one part of it (the part spent in this forum) - wondering and worrying about meeting their expectations. To put it very bluntly, "**** them". If that's how it's going to be then it needs to be a two way street (i.e. they would have to meet my expecations in turn).

And quick question. If a moderator came in here and said that was against the rules or shut down the topic, would that be enough? Not trying to sound mean, just wondering why no one cares about a potential broken rule.

Since this is private property they can do more or less as they please. And I would think that if you are that concerned about the rules some of the other cited examples would have brought on just as strong a reaction. They do not appear to have done so which leads me to surmise that this has more to do with your personal feelings regarding how Tali should be, or should not as the case may be, treated and displayed.
