Hm, IF we get a movie I guess it'll be very hard to do the Quarian, Turian, Krogan and Salarian legs. In fact, Krogans and Salarians most likely will have to be 100% CGI, due to their physiology. And they may have to reverse the leg-articulation for the Quarians and Turians, to avoid making them all-CGI, too.

Yeah, with all the great movies out there, Max Payne really isn't one you should waste your time to. I'm sad, though, I hoped for it to be good...

If you, as i do, love and cherish Max Payne then you should stay s far away from those films as possible.  A labotoised seal with a lisp would have made a better Payne than Mark Whalberg.  It was endemic of hollywood ruining our favourite things with their limited artistic scope.

Edit: Nevermind, re-read interviews. Casey Hudson says that it's got a lot of attention but want to make sure if it gets made, it's a fantastic movie, not an average one.

Just because there's an imdb page doesn't mean its going to happen. Hell, just because its planned doesn't mean it will ever get made. The Halo movie was probably the highest profile game movie planned for of its time and it got canned (and isn't going to be made after all).

A movie made from any game can be awesome if done well. There is a Metal Gear Solid movie made and directed by a big fan of the game. he had money. It cost him about 8 grand to make it, and it looked amazing considering the cost AND IT WAS ABOUT THE GAME. It wasn't mutilated by Hollywood's desire to take an idea and butcher it into something they want to make and hope it makes money.

 

I agree  there has also been a big shift in Hollywood about how movies, from games, Comics  and books are made.  2008-2009   hollywood  grossed one of  its biggest... off of  Harry Potter, Transformers, Gi JOE, Ironman, Watchmen.  Those movies made all in the double and triple digits.  I read an article in Game  Informer a while back   from the writer of Prince of Persia.  He  stated that its hard to translate a game to movie because we are as fans think as a great plot is very bare. A game takes into  account the player pushing the story forward.  In a Movie there is now direct interaction so the movie has to move along itself.   Prince of Persia  and maybe Warcraft are going  to be ceiling breakers.  Prince of Persia because Disney/Buena Vista has the money to throw behind hindit. Warcraft because Sam Rami is a good director.  

Still  at the end of the Day we as fans have to understand its all about the Bottom line... if the Mass Effect movie cost 300 million dollars to make a Studio and production house is not going to throw money behind it if they don't feel they are going to make that money back.  Sadly the 2 million or so fans that play the game are not a wide enough viewing base to make that much Money  if it released as  movie.. Changes will have to be made to bring the Mass Effect story to a broader  base...  fact of life. 

It is time for us a game and comic fans to forget the days of Uwe Bowe and move on into the future.

Indeed, since IMDB is user-updated.

But if there is an ME film, I don't see why it can't be good, if BioWare is smart enough to keep a finger ( or a fist ) on the production. And BioWare has been nothing but smart in the past.
