Back for 20 minutes here.

Slightly on topic though: I was completely blown away by Ashley's attitude on Horizon that I was totally fine with cheating on her with my first character (who obviously romanced her in ME1). Wasn't at all hard to go for Tali after that. Hell, I went back to ME1 for one day and replayed the whole game, same decisions and all, minus the Ashley love. There's dedication :P

Convenient as it may sound, I do not consider it cheating. Ashley even says that things are different after Shepard's death and the subsequent 2 years. Had she said "I love you" or "I'm still interested, just give me a bit of time to take it all in", etc. I would feel and think differently but that wasn't the case. All Ash had to do was reach out to my Shepard at that one moment on Horizon and it would have changed everything. Yes, they hugged and they spoke a bit about that night they shared together and how difficult it was for her to deal with those feelings after Shepard's death, but she never actually came out and seized the opportunity to be with Shepard again. And that's all she had to do: Reach out and seize the moment. The opportunity was right there in the palm of her hand. It makes me a bit sad, but it does not constitute "cheating/infidelity" in my book.

Why do you think Quarian(/Tali's) eyes glow? Does it have to do with seeing better in dark areas? IS that why their(/her) visor is tinted?

Apart from the obvious answer "to let us see a little bit emotion from her" it might be that Quarians have similar eye structure to cats i.e. a reflective surface behind their retinas so they see better in the dark

Truth be told the first time I really experienced a "Wow!" moment over an Asari was when I first saw Samara.

Yeah, and I bet it had nothing to do with those... erm... freckles. Yeah, freckles...  :mellow::mellow::whistle::innocent:

It was her entire package. Samara's eyes, refined facial features, voice, figure (yes, also those two glorious mammary distractions), freckles and all. She just radiates sleek power and confidence without being overbearing. A woman like that could have me go weak at the knees just by smiling at me IRL. Possibly sad yet also true. Sure, I could resist but I wouldn't want to.

And who doesnt love Studded Leather Armor for a +3 AC bonus, probably masterwork too by the... looks of it, so that's no armor check penalty!

The original intention was for it to be a general Tali discussion. I'llbeit we've swayed quite a bit from time to time. But it happens.

Anyway... I asked this ab out 400 pages ago and never really got an answer, so I'll ask it again.

Hm. I remember your question from previously and it's one I find interesting. Unfortunately now, just as then, I do not have any theory I consider half-serious and thus have little to offer in response.

I think Shepard will have to let Tali go, for a time, to return to her people and lead them. Not in a military sense, mind you, but as an icon for what lies ahead for the Quarian people. Also, I think Shepard would want to spare her the last mission and being on the front line against Harbringer, which probably does not bode well for a return of anyone who goes with the Commander.

I think the glowing eyes are really artistic license to allow for a little visual communication and expression.  If we could not see her blink or hold a steady gaze (such as when she levels a glare at Jacob when you first get her on board the Normandy in ME2) she might not be as engaging.  The glow could also be reflected light and not actually a glow at all.  Consider the glow cats' eyes get at night.

now that i think about it she might have eyes kind of like riddick. Constant night vison and a nocturnal race...Hmm, might be interesting conversation for fanfiction, will see what i can do.

I regards to the quarian eyes, I assumed it was something to do with low light vision, similar to a cats? I have no idea in all honesty.

I also wonder if Tali was surprised by the colour of Shepard's skin when he took her mask off. She has been seeing him in a shade of purple, after all. ^^

Hmm. You know, I never even contemplated that possibility. Would make for an interesting loop, though perhaps not pivotal to the overall status of things. I like where you went with that idea though. :)

Anyone else romance Ash on their ME1 playthrough? I thought it was rather sweet that ash sends you a message after you meet her on Horizon. The poem is very touching and almost makes me want to have a ME2 that doesnt romance tali just to see how that turns out in ME3

Agreed. Ashley gets a bad rap. She's quite tender, caring and sweet once you get beneath all that Marine bravado. I already feel pangs of remorse for what will undoubtedly be a sad confrontation with her over Tali. Still, two+ years went by and like Ash says, things change and we aren't the same people anymore. My Shepard's love for Tali is genuine and true. Ash is a good friend who once was something more. Perhaps had events not unfolded the way they did things would have been very different, but that is neither here nor there because that is not what happened....Unless I choose her, which will not be the case on my first playthrough (or unless I do some nifty reloading). Tali'Zorah.

Ash was ok in ME1. I didn't hate her like alot of people do, but her racism definately through me off when it comes to romance options. She died guarding my nuke in ME1. But Kaiden turned into a ******. I almost regret it even if ashley was a hater.

Very true. Her attitude over it, if carried over as an ME1 LI at least, was quite disappointing in those regards. She really does care too much about the bad reputation of Cerberus. And she almost shows no realy happiness towards Shepard being alive after thinking he was dead for 2 years. Sure, she sends an apologetic email, but my Shepard didn't care about that. I don't see how she can justfiy being all ****y about you being in Cerberus, not telling you about how you died and came back to life, and also be all upity about "being an Alliance solider is in my blood". Tali and Garrus (even Wrex at that) were all surprised to see Shepard, but understanding and cooperative all the same. So while Ashley was never near the top in my books to begin with, her narrow minded attitude is just...a turn off really.

They are likely told about someone that writes an article about them in this detail.
Or at least asks them some goddamn questions first before spouting out that the game if some extreme sex simultor even though you've never even heard of/seen anything about the game.

Because then you just look like a complete simpleton.

I kind of thought that Quarian's eyes were featureless. Kind of like the gray aliens? But white/silver and not huge.
