Imagine issue is two fold. Suitable worlds claimed by corporations/races. Quarians unwelcome. Settling unwelcome in any system neighboring council space. Colonies in Terminus subject to slaver attacks. May also remain mobile as best defense versus Geth strike. If Quarians on stationary world, easier for Geth to commit genocide.

Mere speculation. Perhaps offbase?

Not after near total destruction of the geth heretics, or mass program modification after virus turned heretic's beliefs back to standard geth beliefs.

Though we didn't really see the impact of the virus yet, an interesting thing to look out for in me3.

What color skin do you picture tali having? Personally I always thought of her as being a pale shade of grey.

That would work...The quarians with a dark shade of Black or gray would be nice.

In my story, I described Tali's skin with a pale mix of Dark Blue, Gray, and Purple. I also explained through my sotry that the Quarians have several varieties of skin pigment; a combination of any of the three colors That I used.

I always thought of her skin as light purple.

YES! Thank you for agreeing with me Saberwolf! Everyone thinks shes grey or black. I always thought of her as a lavendar color.

Lavendar is pleasing shade. Hrm. Second non-scientific observation. Must be tired.

Agreed. No data available. Most interested in impact.

Skin tone would be lighter shade of racial skin tone.

Not necessarily, it depends on what function their skin pigment served on their homeworld.  For humans, skin pigmentation level is balanced by evolutionary pressure from two major directions:
- Protection from UV rays
- Vitamin D production

People from environments with comparatively little sunlight will have less skin pigmentation because melanin will block what little UV there is and cause vitamin D deficiencies.  On the other hand, people from high-sun environments, like equatorial Africa for instance, will have more melanin to protect from UV rays and vitamin D poisoning.

However, if Quarian skin pigmentation is for some other purpose and living inside suits doesn't provide any sort of evolutionary pressure to get rid of it, they may have very nearly the same skin tone as they did when they left their home planet.

I just thought of something.... will the romance with Tali be enjoyable in ME3 if its a legit relationship? I think alot of the fun in ME2 was discovering Tali as a LI. It was fun because Shepard and Tali were discovering eachother. will it be fun now that the mystery is gone? You never really got to see you ME1 that much. I wonder how that will play out..............

Speaking for myself, yes. I want more. Loads more. What was unleasheded in ME2 is only the beginning as far as I'm concerned.

I'm liking the dark-quarian theory myself.  This is kind of meta, but we've got plenty of light-colored aliens already.

I'd be fine either way, of course.

Only problem is that there are a number of different quarian visor colors.  Purple, black, yellow (I think).

I believe the reason is because the point of getting a homeworld back is so they do not need sterile environments anymore. Also, from Tali's chats in both the engine room and her loyalty mission, it would require (I believe) approximately 600 (though I imagine some of this was hyperbole due to anger) years to adapt to a new planet, where the environment on their native world might require only an intensive 50-60 years of bioengineering.

Forgot angle. Rannoch key to recovering immune system. However. Was responding to sterile dome environments on colony world.

In ME2 there is a planet (forget which one) where you are informed that the Quarians did settle it with several hundreds of thousands of their people before they petitioned the Council for the right to colonize it (this was after the Geth uprising). The Council ruled against their petition and granted the colonization rights to the Elcor because the planet's heavy gravity was deemed a better match for that species than the Quarians, and because the Quarians had pre-empted the Council by settling there without its permission first. The Quarians were given a short window of time to evacuate before their shelters were bulldozed. Doesn't seem fair to me when it was an unclaimed planet, but I suppose there are good reasons for the Council to maintain a due process for colonization projects within Council space in order to avoid a free-for-all.

I’d want more as long as it seems done well. I don’t actually want Tali/Shepard right at the start. There should be issues between them.

I don't think, they established a character during two games only to discard  it in the third game, so I really hope, they think about something great for Tali in ME3.

So I think their apperance is completly up in the air for Bioware devs,How did they look when they walked upon their worlds unmasked,up to 300 years of being in suits behind masks in clean enviroments. So now they can pull from all of this and create the perfect Tali face...oo my bad I mean Quarian. I vote for a pale skin.Colored but pale.

Actually a Bioware person let it slip during an interview that they do already know what Quarians look like.  They may not know what Tali looks like, or may be changing/refining it, but the Quarians are complete.  To me this says that we're going to get to see Tali at some point -- or at least I hope that's what it means :)

I also know this,I copy and pasted it in the old threads and I'm pretty sure Chris has also mentioned this.

Here is one of them...Patrick Weekes

nope - the universe knows what quarians look like under the helmet, through vids and such. many asari and some krogan likely know personally.

we're just not telling you yet.

and if we want to remain mysterious, they can have changed appearance a lot since going under helmets hundreds of years ago.

So as it states here the writers may know and can use the Quarians living in enviro-suits(w/o sun) to change their appearance if they wish,as I said, here's your link...meforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html

I know, that is leading me to some interesting reflection...
But we have no way to tell. as we can see with all quarians, we can barely see their nose/eyes through the visor, that leads to the concolusion that it is very thick, which would make any skintone assumption impossible.
But we can see through their visors that their eyes have a somwhat glow about them...
Maybe their eyes glow such as the geth's optical part does?

Tali looks at Shepard's face, and gently strokes his cheek and jaw line, running her fingers through Shepard's facial stubble."Quarians and humans are the only advances species with hair, and quarians never get it on their bodies or faces. It's...somewhat alien to me to see a face with hair on it..." She says softly, continuing to stroke Shepard's light beard.

"Well, I suppose I can shave it off it bothers you, Tali. Most humans prefer to keep it off anyway." Shepard responds, smiling lightly.

"No, no. It doesn't bother me. I, actually kinda like it..." She responds in a cute, girlish tone, reminiscent of how she admitted enjoying Shepard's yelling after her trial, and continues to stroke Shepard's facial hair, staring at him.

Which was part of why I made the first comment. The purpose behind getting a world to live on is to get beyond the immuno-deficiencies they currently experience.  Even the sheltering of non-combatants during a potential reaper war would be ineffcient if the flotilla routinely had to turn around and bring replacement parts, sterilized food, etc., every few months. So a sterile dome could work, and it would put them on the ground, but it would essentially cause more problems than it would solve.

Just in my opinion.

I'd prefer that ME3 immediately continues with Tali's and Shepard's relationship where it left off, or very shortly there after with some background info mentioned either via e-mails or dialogue options, from ME2. It should still be feasible to incorporate challenges, issues, concerns, etc.
