Greeting everyone
I am not a tali fan however your ...tenacity and love on this character is impressif.
I just wrote something about shepard x tali and I wanted your opinion on it.
I know it's short but I don't have much inspiration at the moment...perhaps later...
Unrequieted
When she was 22 years old, she was a selfish and proud woman.
Now that she think of it, she was more like a child ; angry because of the unfairness of the situation. But she was a greedy child. No matter how foolish, weak or unusual it was, she always got what she wanted.
However this time...was different.
Before she knew what was going on, she was confronting one enemy she could not simply defeated on the battleground : Love.
This is not need. This is not lust. This is pure simple love, and the actions that spawn from it are inevitable, uncontrollable.
Pure, untainted love
Something that could never be broken
A relationship based on trust, on faith
Not lust.
Something that should be cherished.
Pure innocence.
Born out of darkness.
She watched him. She watched commander Shepard. That was a different kind of passing thought. She wanted something she could not have. It was a natural thought, but a passing one. He was “out of her league.” He wouldn’t take a second look at her as anything more than a friend and an ally. His compliments were nothing more than the simple facts.
She wonder what hurt the most…
His ignorance of her feelings.
Or...
His cruel gentle and kind gesture toward her.
More than anything, she wanted to protect his strong will and vulnerable heart.
Even if it was beyond her skills, even if it has to be someone else role.
Yes
She would love and watch him from far away.
And hope it would be enough.
But in her heart she knew...it would never be enough for her.
Pretty much sums it up!

Quarians have an interesting blend of communist and democratic government. The captains have absolute power on their ships, but the Conclave and Admiralty board are elected and can overrule the captain.damage incorp96 wrote...

thanks for your input obama <_< haha kidding but seriously communism is bad.
Communism as we know it. (Ie stupidity and dictator and corruption)
Thats not true communism. In a true communist state there would be no leader no currency. Essentialy a "communist" society is the model society on how to co-exist with others in complete harmony but human nature simply wont let that happen thats why we see "communist" dictatorships and such.
Enough on my political theories xD.
I noticed in the novel ascension the quarians run a slightly communist regime in the fact all people seem to share etc ala the trading decks on ships and all citizens are seemingly equal. Thoughts?
Do you think its because of the nature of the floatila and is a evolution of quarian society or do you think thats how it always was?
Wellll, one of the quarians, Seeto I think was surprised that people would keep items they wern't using, if only because your living quarters would become so full you wouldn't have a place to lay down and sleep. Every family had a cubby of I think 12'x12' (including the captain) in which to live keep personal items. So to answer your question, it was probably due to necessity, though quarians were probably very social creatures before the exodus from their homeworld.

i know this is off the topic with grunt but one question
why bioware dont let us see the volus face? i gliched thorough talis face to see her face but volus come on!!
If you read the codex entry in ME1 regarding the volus, it says that if a volus were to be exposed to the kind of air we breath, their skin would split open. Forget the exact wording, but that's basically it.

But hey, any way you slice it, it's just a theory... and I would not put it behind TIM to implement reaper tech.... and I think that's one of the only beings that could be capable of resurrecting the dead.
I don't put ANYTHING as 'too far' for TIM. I never trusted him and I never will. Am I the only one who remembers all the 'found horrible experiment, was Cerberus fault' side quests in ME1?
Nope, yet given the reality that TIM did not appear to be aware of what exactly was transpiring with the project Jack was in, it is conceivable that other projects carried out activities he may not have been completely familiar with either. Do I trust TIM? Not really, though I do find his dedication, resourcefulness and mission to protect and advance humanity appealing. Albeit, I do not necessarily approve of all of his methods (think of me as more akin to Kelly Chambers when she uses the "My sister is a dog person yet she still loves cats too"). Other species are looking out for their interests and humanity should too. Ideally there will be lots of areas where our interests can be coordinated in a peaceful and mutually beneficial manner with other species, so cooperation is favoured in so far as it does not actively undermine humanity nor force us to go against whichever value system we are operating from at the time (in my case Paragon). We should always be prepared to defend ourselves and be willing to make new advances providing due and in-depth deliberation has been carried out to weigh the potential benefits vs. the risks (ex. an intergalactic war may very well not be worth starting over a single planet for colonization purposes).

Lots of people were scrounging for Sovereign parts... And then there is the new novel that is coming or has come out already that interests me. Someone from one of the previous books crosses TIM and to get back at the double crosser, TIM subjects him to experiments regarding reaper tech. That is one of the seeds that spawned my theory.
I still don't buy it but I'll keep an eye out for it in "Revelation" and "Ascension" - they were delivered to my door earlier today. Yiipee!

They seem to be modeled after the Romulans from star trek if I remember correctly. It is close to how Rome was ruled by both emperor (small body) and a senate (large body) but it was ultimately an autocracy (the legislature was there more for show than anything else). For the Quarians it seems to have been done out of extreme need.
Now I need to shovel snow.

Ascension is a must for quarian fans. Just started Revelation. I know I'm reading out of order, I saw the quarian on the cover and just had to read Ascension first.
